Kate carefully poured the steaming milk into two mugs. She added a heaping spoonful of high quality hot chocolate mix and stirred the drinks. She brought the hot chocolates and a bag of mini marshmallows over to where Yelena was sitting on the couch.
“Here you go,” she said. “Repayment for the macaroni and cheese the other night.” Yelena smiled and took one of the mugs. “Thank you, Kate Bishop,” she replied. Kate blushed bright red like she always did when Yelena said her full name.
“You’re welcome.”
She grabbed two spoons (metal, not plastic, since the first thing Yelena had done after they became a couple was go out and buy silverware) from the counter and went to sit down on the couch.
She settled herself beside Yelena, curling her feet beside her and snuggling into Yelena’s side. “This is nice,” she said, and sipped her hot chocolate.
Yelena smiled. “Yes, it is. And it is all the better because you are here.”
Kate blushed and smiled. She stretched up and kissed Yelena’s cheek happily.
