Chapter Text
"You sure this is gonna be worth the trouble?"
"What trouble? I am a genius after all!"
"Silence, you two. I am trying to concentrate."
In a run-down lighthouse constructed of once-sturdy waffles and hardened chocolate glaze, a faint red glow seeped through the cracked and worn walls. A light, melodic bell chimed as crimson magic seeped into a frozen chunk of solidified Strawberry Syrup. A priestess donning ornate pomegranate seeds was performing one of her more complex displays of magic, the light of her spell reflected against the bright red eyes of another Cookie, whose brow was lifted curiously, contrasting a devilish, scheming smirk, jagged and harsh.
The crystalline Syrup was then promptly lifted by a robotic waffle arm, and another arm held up a crimson crystal. A beam of powerful light shone from the crystal, expertly carving the Syrup in the blink of an eye. And what once was nothing more than an ice cube was now a brilliant shimmering claw, glowing with powerful dark energy.
"It is finished." Said Pomegranate Cookie, hiding the fact that such a spell drained her mana quite badly, "And you best be ready, Lobster Cookie. My master will not tolerate your procrastination any longer."
"Ah, I'll handle Dark Enchantress myself, don't worry. Thanks for the claw! It's just what I need to get back in the game!" Lobster Cookie said, taking the prosthetic claw from the Waffle Bot and slipping it on. They held it up and turned the wrist, looking it over smugly. "You two did just great! I can totally wreak some havoc now!"
"Just great??? Oh come on, it's a simple prosthetic." Strawberry Crepe chimed in, "There's nothing great about it."
“Yeesh, just take the compliment.” Lobster Cookie said under their breath, before stepping outside into the moonlight. Pomegranate followed soon after.
Lobster Cookie walked out amidst the sugar stones on the shore, looking out across the sea as the tides lapped against the sand and rock. They let out a lonesome sigh, the moonlight against the seafoam reminded them of the crystals of Sugarteara… But, did they remember what the crystals even looked like anymore?
The sound of light footsteps behind them caught their attention. Turning around with a boiling glare, Lobster Cookie prepared to tell someone like Licorice Cookie to leave them alone. However, they were surprised to see that it was in fact Dark Enchantress Cookie.
Lobster Cookie’s expression was dialed back half a notch, now showing a hint of curiosity. “Can I help you?”
“Yes, dear Lobster Cookie, you definitely could.” Dark Enchantress said, an evil smirk spreading across her grayed face. “I have an assignment for you.”
“Alright, shoot.” Lobster Cookie said, curious about what she was planning.
“As you know, Sugarteara has fallen. But that will not be permanent. I want you to go scout out the remnants of your fallen world, and report back to me on what you find. Perhaps we can salvage the remnants of Sugarteara.” Dark Enchantress explained, much to the delight of Lobster Cookie. She gave them a sly grin, seeing right through their tough persona to the soft gummy lobster underneath. This was what Lobster wanted to hear all along.
“Gotcha. I’ll get that sorted right away, Dark Enchantress Cookie.” Lobster said, before turning to face the ocean.
“You may depart whenever-” Dark Enchantress began to say, before she was interrupted by a large splash. Lobster Cookie had leapt out to the sea, to find their home among the depths once more.
