Emma arched an eyebrow. "So, you really want to get rid of all this?" Her eyes darted to the gleaming rows of bottles, some older than Emma herself, sitting atop the worn wooden table below her. Buffalo Trace, Iordanov, Dalmore - her little captain really was sitting atop a treasure trove!
"It's not like I'm throwing it away." Kate pushed a few stray strands of hair back behind her ear. "It's more like I'm renting a temporary storage unit. Once Passover ends, I'll return your money and take everything back."
Emma smirked. "But until then, it's mine?"
Though a crisp Grant was slipped between her gloved fingers, Emma just as easily could have brought along a dime - a penny! - and still made off with everything.
Kate's eyebrows narrowed. "Technically yes," she said, her words passing between gritted teeth, "but don't get any ideas."
Emma chuckled. "Darling, there's no need to look so apprehensive. What fun is there in drinking alone?" Reaching forward, she pressed the bill into Kate's outstretched palms with one hand and grabbed the neck of the nearest bottle of bourbon with the other. "Now, how about giving this one last taste test before it officially leaves the menu?"
