    Now that they are formally courting, Arthur Kirkland and Alfred F. Jones waste no time in advertising their budding love affair to the rest of society. With a bounty of courting gifts, frequent visitors to each others' estates, afternoons in the town's duelling club and most of all, spending time together, they are not shy about their affection for one another.
