Chapter Text
It was an annoyingly hot day out in the Texan sun. You and your friends have decided to do a road trip. There were many problems with this. You weren’t a road trip guy, you had hardly left your home state at all much preferring to not be noticed and to just go by unseen. You lived your whole life like this, not being noticed, not being popular, you were the stereotypical just trying to get by. Secondly these weren’t your friends persay, hell most of them hated that you were with them but not Elise. She was the whole reason you're here. Your family had been intertwined with each other since you were young, you had actually developed feelings for her. She invited you along to get you out of the house, out of your studies, and out of your head. She was always so caring.
Nonetheless no one else really wanted you here. You didn't blame them, you held no resentment, hell you didn't want to be here anyways. It was Tiffany, Kyle, Elise , Charlie and you all packed in the smallest van because well, it was cheap. Charlie and Elise had been together for about two years and you didn't like how he treated her, always making himself seem better. But hell that was the only flaw you could find about him, he was charming and sweet and if talked to you a bit more maybe you would have feelings for him too. You had just reached Texas a couple states from your own, and then the air conditioning broke.
“Goddammit” Kyle sighed, he had been the driver so far according to Elise he didn't trust anyone else to drive apparently he had some PTSD and you weren't one to ask questions.
Sadly you weren't near any- well anywhere at all it seemed this place was a Ghost town. You had seen a gas station and about three houses. Odd.
“You've gotta be kidding me, “ Tiffany said. Tiffany was a cool, confident type, she wore what she wanted and didn't care what others thought. She had at least 5 piercings and so many tattoos.
“Wait, I think I saw a house back there in the clearing, we could probably see if they knew where we could get it fixed” and once those words fell out of Charlie's mouth Kyle had done a U-turn in the middle of the street. It didn't matter since nobody was on it. Again odd. And not even 5 minutes later you saw the house again. It was a white farm type house, a big porch and some small steps leading to it. It looked nice and taken care of though so you were hoping for someone to point you in the right direction.
Kyle pulled to the side of the street and hoped out of the van putting the keys in the seat, “Alright who wants to go with me to see if they actually know where the hell we are”
Tiffany looked at Charlie and then at you and Elise “God youre all such pussys”
Kyle started to lead the way, Tiffany following close behind complaining how the weeds were smacking her bare legs. You opened the door and climbed out leaning against the van as Charlie got out, stretching his legs, Elise popped her back before turning to the both of you.
Charlie turned to you” So you enjoying your vacation so far, Y/N?”
You smiled softly, it was a small action but it was nice to be acknowledged by someone other than Elise.”Could be worse, could be alot worse”
Elise smiled and joined Charlies side “ I'm just glad you are outta the house psychology cant be that fun that you do it alllllll day”
You actually loved your studies, it was something you took interest in since you were younger. “It beats sweating in a cramped car with you-” Before you could finish you heard a scream. Not anyone's scream. Tiffinays. You all stared in awe at the direction of the noise before.
You hated this feeling. The dread. The fear. You hated it so much. Yet- something felt different.
Charlie started walking towards the direction you and Elise were heading right behind. The soft fast paced steps turned to running as you could see the house in its glory. You started to try to focus on your breathing. Thoughts flooding your mind of what could have happened. What scared you more is that Charlie always was calm, never did anything out of anger but this- You can understand. Charlie sprinted up to the door and pounded on it.You followed close behind, Elise right behind you.
No answer.
Knocked again but still nothing. You turned to the side just as he kicked the door in, the beads of sweat rolling down your forehead. Everything happened so fast.
The first thing you saw was a normal seeming living room to the side of a long entry hallway, with taxidermy animals everywhere. You almost were impressed you loved taxidermy and butterfly pinnings. The next was a bigger man in a yellow shirt and apron throwing a hammer directly at Charlie, you saw his body hit the ground as Elise let out a cry. You couldn't find anything in you to make a sound. You could now see a better look at his face- no. Not his face, someone's face- this was not his. The stitching around the skin and the sunken eye holes of the satanic mask made it clear, It was not his face, his black hair locs fell across suddenly on the mask. Everything happened so fast.
You could hear Elise cry again, turning around just to see her pass out due to a sudden bat at the head. Another man stood outside, appearing to be wearing a wig, he also had purple tinted glasses and a huge birthmark across his face. You thought he was gonna hit you next but he started to do a crazed laugh.
Everything happened so fast.
You passed out feeling your limbs become lighter and you hit the floor.
You woke up being tied to a chair at a family dinner table, you set the head, to the side of you was Charlie and to the other side was Elise, The further down was Tiffinat with several deep wounds on her. At the opposite head a corpse, the to the side of the was a man with the same birthmark as the one before, but the man before was sitting right next to him. They looked so similar. Then to the other side was a man you haven't seen at all…….no……that was the cashier at the gas station that didn't sell gas. Next to him was the man with the mask. Your head pounded as you looked at all the food in front of you. All meat.
Two main thoughts ran in your head. What happened. And…
Where's Kyle?
