Work Text:
Kanade was tired of composing. Tired of always trying to save people.
“ I just want to disappear… ” she said to herself.
“ If only I could exchange my life for the happiness of other people… ” she hoped, but it wouldn’t happen, her life was worth nothing.
At times like this everyone would go to sekai, where they could be left alone, with no one and nothing with them. Kanade wanted to go too, but it would inconvenient Miku, she thought.
The cuddled herself at the corner of her room, away from her desk.
She put her head on her knees and began crying. Cries for the past, future, present. What was she meant for?
Must compose.
A voice in her head replied.
MUST COMPOSE, MUST COMPOSE, MUST COMPOSE, MUST…
It repeated over and over again. She felt sick to the thought of that, her head was spinning, she felt as if she’ll throw up. She wanted a break, an endless break, if possible…
“ But there’s no time for that ” she said to herself.
She stood up as dizziness took over her head, squinting her eyes as she waited for the blackout from her eyes to go away.
Must compose.
She sat back at her computer and went back to creating new songs. She was capable of making music videos and art as well, it just takes time, which is why she askes Ena and Mizuki to do it. But for songs she makes outside of nightcord, she makes them herself.
—19 hours later—
“ Nightcord should be meeting soon, I’ll tell them to start without me ”
Mafuyu was already a lot for them to deal with, she’d rather keep her problems to herself and not let others worry.

[ K ] 22:16
Thank you, see you then.
Eat? There was no time for that. A human can survive over a month without eating right? Why can’t she?
For days on end, she worked tirelessly to create songs, with no breaks whatsoever.
Her eyes were dry, her stomach was empty, and as usual, had a massive headache.
She stood up to test out the melody for her new song on the keyboard, only to be met by a more searing pain in her head.
In a swift motion, she collapsed onto the ground. Her strength failed to get her back up. Though she strove to resist the exhaustion, her eyes inevitably shut.
She had only one thing in mind:
Must compose.
