"Whenever I'm alone with you, you make me feel like I'm home again"
Chris sang along with the song, and I could feel how he laid his eyes on me.
We were sitting on the tour bus, basically cuddling on the couch, listening to music, and chilling. Just the two of us spending some time together. I was scrolling through instagram, but right now I had to look at him to check if I was right. And I was - his gaze was very fucking intense.
There was something strange - but not in a bad way - in his eyes. He looked away when he realized I saw him stare, blushing delicately, but he never stopped humming. I couldn't help but smile.
"What's up, honey?" I asked, lazily reaching to his head and running my finger through his, now blond, hair. (To be honest, I still couldn't get used to this color. But he seemed to be so happy about it, so I did too). He just shrugged and hugged me tightly."
"Whenever I'm alone with you, you make me feel like I am young again" Chris mumbled along with the song. "Really, you do. And I just wish times like this would never end" he continued. "I mean, I just wish we'd always be able to just... be like this. You and me and no one else and... well, I... I may sound stupid, but it's just...it's true. You are special and.. and with you, my home can be anywhere..." he buried his face in my arm. I could feel his warm breath on the naked skin of my arm as he talked.
"I'm not that special, but it's still sweet. Thank you" I uttered, kinda amused, stroking his hair. He rolled his eyes and raised his head to look at me.
"Yes, you are. You are the most special person in the world. And I love you, Ricky" he admitted, beaming slightly.
"I love you too, Chris" I answered and laughed in the response to the gentle kiss he left on my blushing cheek. For a second it was really, really lovely, but then he tightened his grip on my waist, pressing me harder against his chest.
And for now, I knew he was going to do something very fucking dumb.
And after a second I was forced to basically sit on his knees in a very awkward position, face to face with him.
His laugh filled my ears as I shook out of shock, now red as a damn tomato. His glance was apologetic though.
"I'm not really sure if you understood me, like, correctly, y'know?" he leaned towards me, and when I felt his breath on me again, this time on my face instead of my arm, I was a bit confused. "I'm in love with you, Ricky. You know, the butterflies, joy and... and other shit" I watched him start rambling with growing confusion. "I don't really know the definition of love, but basically, I love you. Not like, love, but like... love. You know what I mean already" his cheeks turned crimson as he looked away, suddenly too shy to look into my eyes.
It took me a second to fully get it. Only a second, and after it, I was already kissing him. And when I felt him return the kiss, I was sure he wasn't joking.
Now I know what I saw in his eyes. It was love, so damn pure and precious. I saw it that day, and many, many times before.
And later, too.
