a warm embrace of lovers

Summary:

Victor comes unprepared in the snow, luckily, Vincent has a warm scarf on him- this leaves the question:
How can Victor snatch it from him?

Work Text:

Victor hugged himself tightly, shivering as the cold temperature made it to his skin. He was completely unprepared for the snowstorm, and the snow that would continue even after. However, his boyfriend, on the other hand, was completely prepared as opposed to him. Vincent Edgeworth was dressed appropriately- he had all the right attire to keep him warm, but Victor was eyeing that long, black yet cat-patterned cotton scarf on his neck. He didn’t think Vincent was noticing his shivering, so he went up and held his hand.

As expected, Vincent’s hand was covered with a wool glove. He honestly looked like he’d come out from church with the outfit he was wearing- but that didn’t matter; this was only the beginning of Victors' plan to snatch the scarf.

“My dear Vincent..” Victor gave him a warm (sadly, physically cold) smile, looking into his mesmerizing gray eyes, reminiscent of storm clouds. Vincent turned his head to him, continuing to hold his hand through the snow. For a moment, Victor was distracted, lost in his gaze- but he had to persist!

“-are you enjoying the weather?” Victor asked, sparking conversation. Vincent looked away for a moment, thinking. He nodded.

“Yes, I am. I’ve always appreciated the snow- what about you, my love?” Vincent couldn’t help but succumb to the smile tugging at his lips. He was already aware that Victor was up to something- but he didn’t mind. It was cute.

“The same can be said for me.” Victor started, trying to resist becoming a flustered mess as he heard the nickname “love”. His face heated up, and for a moment he was convinced he wouldn’t need the scarf anymore. Vincent noticed this, smiling to himself. He stopped, Victor following after him. Vincent wrapped his arms around his waist, pressing a kiss to the top of Victors’ head. His head stayed there for a moment as he simply treasured the feeling of holding his boyfriend in his arms, where the two of them were safe from all danger in the world. There was nobody coming for them right now. No tragedies could possibly strike. It was just them, and no force in the world would split them from each other again.

Victor put his head down on Vincents’ shoulder, embracing him with a hug.

And for a few moments it was…silent. There was no pain. There was no exhaustion or hurt. There was only love.

Vincent let go for a moment, just to wrap his scarf around the both of them. Victor was surprised at the motion, but succumbed nonetheless. He pressed a kiss to Vincents’ neck, sighing.

And the world was silent.

Victor hugged Vincent tightly, no longer shivering as Vincents’ warmth alone was enough for him.
