Regardless, the days seem to blur together, one after another, without any change or excitement.
It’s only eleven in the morning, and she already feels like death.

“It’s so funny that you went with a vampire costume,” Avid replied. He went ahead and let himself into the house, a habit after so long of visiting. Shelby didn’t even notice the intrusion, content to shut and lock the door behind him. “You look great. Very sophisticated and intimidating.”
“Isn’t it the coolest?” Shelby brightened, giving a little twirl. “I had the contacts and the wig from a while back, but Scott helped me pick out my actual outfit a few hours ago.”
Avid froze.
“Oh?” His voice came out hoarse and barely audible. “Really? Scott helped you?”
