Jade didn't mean to fall in love with Volto, he simply found him incredibly pitiable and would rather entertain himself with his new found toy. No, it was always always a means of entertainment a way to relieve his boredom without sharing to his beloved twin. Even now he thinks of the way that bright confidence shifted and broke during the overblot incident. it was different than Azul's; Different than Jamil's----it was
Pathetic.
"Hmm--is that the word I'm looking for?" He says to himself, polishing glass behind Mostro Lounge's counter. Not particularly paying attention since it was just any other day.
"Ne--who are you talking to?" Cue his twin, sauntering over to him, menus in hand, eye-ing him curiously with a slight tilt to his head. Jade, ever composed, just smiles to his brother and finishes polishing the glass.
"Oh just to myself~ just thinking out loud. you know how it goes" he replies, picking up another glass to polish. Floyd makes a noise to showcase his reaction at the dull reasoning. "Must be mushrooms again, huh? I'm bored already~" he leans in some more, reacting against his twin, waving the menus around. "It's too peaceful! When am I gonna get another chance to squeeze someone---I'll squeeze them real good and I wouldn't even use my teeth this time!~" Floyd went on, already dreaming of squeezing poor unfortunate souls that had the audacity to break their contracts with Azul.
"Soon, perhaps." Jade smiled, finishing the current glass and once again picking up another, "After that other overblot incident, I do believe Azul is keeping an eye on over using his magics." Floyd grimaced at that statement and leaned back, lifting a hand to scratch the back of his head. "Yeesh I remember that, Lanternfish-kun was it? My body still aches from being tagged along like a puppet! Who would have thought someone like him could have so much power?"
The Mer-eel laughed at that softly and shook his head.
Yes, Floyd did have a point and yes, he didn't expect the powers the bright puppy-eyed looking boy from Savanaclaw had. Looks can be deceiving after all. And with Volto's looks, he sure could give a bite.
Unconsciously, Jade licks his lips. A gesture unseen by his twin as he moves and walks away, complaining more about boredom before welcoming new customers into the Lounge. Finally leaving Jade back to his thoughts.
He thought back to the aftermath of the incident and then thought to Azul's aftermath. Whereas Azul had him and Floyd to fall back into and cry his heart out. Volto had lost the only person he trusted the most--granted that person was part of the reason he overblotted. His own twin. And in the end, after everything had settled he had the Magicless Prefect and the other dormitory students to rely on, from now on.
A frown on his face, warped by the reflection of the glass he was polishing. Jade sighed and shook his head. It seems that Volto was taking too much space in his thoughts. That's not good. He might get tired soon and he wished to relish every moment of toying with the boy.
Perhaps, I've been too indulgent. Maybe it's time to fallback a little.
They had no current club trips for now, nor activities to finish. He would not bother looking for Volto like he usually did; Volto will be fine. He will be with the others during class, during mealtimes and even free time.
The last part made him stop and he sighed again, dark strands of his hair falling and framing his face as he hunched his shoulders. Now he was the one being pathetic. He needs his space now. Perhaps they've been hanging out too often, he did approach the other first after his overblot incident.
Ah Jade! You're here again!
Oh? can I not be?
W-well you can, it's just that this is the Savanaclaw dorm after all. If the others see you they'll think you're up to no good.
A laugh. A small smile, reaching to his eyes. That doesn't bother me, I just came to tell you that our club activities will resume soon. That's great! but why did you come all the way here? Why didn't you just inform me after class?

.....Yes, I do wonder why....
His thoughts replayed that time over and over; His Volto--no--his toy, was so incredible fascinating. The way he looked up at him with his bright eyes---Sparkling green, like the bright sea. No longer dull and muddied by blot. Oh how he wants to see them more often.
Steel yourself, Jade Leech you're at work!
He chastises himself, putting away the rest of the glass back to where they belong and beckons a fellow waiter on stand by. "I'll be taking my break, take over for me, will you?" Jade didn't give the other the time to reply and simply turned and walked away and out of the Lounge. "Yes, I've been working too hard. My thoughts are all jumbled. I could go for a swim." He mused to himself, quickening his pace and undoing his bow tie.
And as he neared the way, he started to think of Volto again; What would he look like underwater as a merman? Would he still have those pretty green eyes that Jade enjoyed looking into so much? He chuckled, going into the mirror portal; chucking of his shoes and socks, and placing them neatly to the side. Jade went on, sighing in relief as the water embraced his body. Swimming---Floating within the waters, relaxed.
"Yes, maybe I'll have to invite him for a swim next time. A new part of our club activities." He said to himself, laughing again at the suggestion "It's not a mountain exploration but who cares? I'm the club leader, I make the rules~"
So he swam and swam, heart full of joy and body relaxed. Today was a good day for him and he wished to share it with his toy.
Afterall it was not Love that he was feeling, it was simply Pity.
Jade Leech simply found Volto Liryo so pathetic and adorable.
But not like he will ever say that out loud, a true gentleman keeps some things to himself after all.
