Summary
In myth, Hermes lulled Argus Panoptes to sleep with music and divinity. Victory came easily. The thousand-eyed giant never stirred when death came.
But not this time.
In this telling, Argus wakes. And before he dies for it, he wounds Hermes—one of the Twelve himself. Bleeding and annoyed, Hermes returns to Trikrena, the sacred spring where he was first bathed as a babe, to wash away the ichor from his skin.
But divine blood in sacred water has never been a small thing.
