Summary
Jean Kirstein considers himself a lucky man.
Despite everything that he's been through - the trauma of war, the loss of his best friend, the grieving of a life that could have been but never will be - he can still appreciate what he has. He's reminded of his luck every time he looks at Reiner, the unlikely companion he found along the way. The very man who could be called responsible for a lot of his pain and the void that it left inside him, but who had also grown to be the biggest source of comfort for him in a time where they all had to face difficult decisions and live with the future that they had created for themselves and the world.
