Blue knocked politely on the large doors in front of him, waiting for the approval to come in, which came shortly after.
"That must be Blue" a soft voice sounded before becoming louder, "come in!" The doors opened as Blue entered, bowing his head.
"I apologize for being late, my brother-"
"No worries, Blue. You're not that late. Please, sit down." Dream smiled reassuringly and gestured to the seat next to him, kindly. Blue nodded, quickly walking over to the seat and settling down. It wasn't very often that he was summoned to discuss matters that were too important, or at least whatever was to be discussed seemed important. No matter, Blue was happy to be useful.
"Now that everyone is here" Dream looked around the table. There were 4 people in total. Ink, Blue, Core, and himself... 5 if you count Broomie, which Ink insisted on giving it a chair. "Core, would you care to start?"
The monochrome child nodded and started to sign 'Yes. I've requested this meeting to discuss the unification of AUs. So far we've been able to get most of the AU’s to comply'
"That's good, right?" Blue asked
Core nodded again but held their hands up again to continue.
‘However, some AU’s have refused and are giving us some trouble.' they slid over a paper to everyone, a list of the non-compliant AU’s.
All present looked through it, though it was who you would expect, the "bad guy" AU’s, or so they were labeled that way, made up most of the list. This was ok for the most part but there was one on the list that was problematic.
“Underfell too, huh? That’s not good. They’re a part of the four main AU’s.” Ink stated very clearly.
Dream nodded and looked solemnly at the paper "Core and I have tried multiple times to talk to them but they won't seem to liste—“
“We can’t give up!” Blue protested. “We have to keep trying.”
"I'm afraid they are rather stubborn, Blue. It has been difficult for even I to speak to-"
"Let me try." he blurted out after bluntly interrupting once more
"Blue-"
"Please? It's been months since my last solo assignment!” He pleaded
"Horror almost chopped your arm off. You were almost hurt very badly, Blue. I do not want to risk your safety aga-"
"I was able to escape and I was fine.” Blue frowned; crossing his arms.
Dream was going to say something but stopped and looked at Ink for some help. Ink shrugged
"I don't see why he can't go. He has been able to defend himself.”
"So.. I can go??" Blue stood up with a smile, waiting for Dream’s approval
Dream thought about it for a minute or two but sighed in defeat
"Yes, Blue. You may go.. Though I would appreciate it if you checked in from time to time."
Blue tried to hold back his excitement, doing a salute "I won't let you down!"
Dream smiled a little, a bit worried but trusting in his friend. "Very well, It's settled. Core and I will continue trying to convince the other AU’s and I will give you more details about your assignment over the phone tomorrow."
Dream turned to Ink again "Has there been any activity concerning Nightmare or Error lately?"
"Nah, Error is busy watching a week marathon of undernovela. Horror is sick so we won't be seeing him for a while"
Dream nodded and stood up. "Then this meeting can come to a close. I will call you tomorrow, Blue."
The others nodded with a smile in agreement
And with that, the meeting ended and they all went home. Blue was more than excited for the day to come. It was going to be tough if Dream of all people couldn't get to them, but he wasn’t going to give up, not the magnificent Blue.
