“What a day.” Sara thought to herself as the doors of her quarters slid closed behind her. She walked toward her bed as she pulled off her red t-shirt and slipped out of her bra. She was in mid-stretch when she heard Gideon over the intercom.
“Captain, there is an incoming call from Director Sharpe.”
“Just a minute Gid-“she started as Ava’s face popped up on the screen on her bedroom wall. Sara instinctively crossed her arms across her bare chest.
“Oh!” Ava gasped, looking off to one side, averting her eyes. “S-S-Sorry! If this is a bad time, I can call back later.”
Ava was still in her Time Bureau uniform and looking away with one hand up in a half-hearted gesture to cover her eyes. Sara instantly realized the ridiculousness of the situation. Ava had certainly seen a lot more of Sara last night and a lot closer up. She looked at Ava on the screen, eyeing the courier still on her wrist.
“Actually,” Sara said, dropping her arms, a sly smile forming on her face, “Your timing is perfect.”
