Work Text:
“Dean, I’m pregnant.” Dean stares dumbfounded at me, he probably has no idea what to say to me. Of course he doesn’t, one of his flings just told him that he knocked her (me) up.
His mouth opens and closes like a fish, he’s out of words, and I’m out of patience. “I- I don’t…”
“You don’t have to say anything, or do anything, for that matter. I’m not asking you to be part of this, I’m just letting you know.”
Finally, his brain seems to function properly because he says, “what do you mean I don’t have to do anything?” He looks angry now, great.
“I meant what I said. I know hunting life is not easy,” I explain. “I’ve been planning on retiring anyway, but you don’t have to. Not because of this baby.” I muster a harsh glare, “and I don't want to get rid of it.”
His eyes soften, “I’m not asking you to.”
“Maybe not, I’m clarifying. I know we’re not a couple, I don’t expect anything from you but understanding.” I inhale deeply, “so, I’m having your baby. If you want to be part of it, you know where to find me.”
I turn around and walk away. There are two outcomes, either Dean Winchester will follow me, or he won’t. If he does, a family might be on the table, if he doesn’t, I can damn right do this on my own. We’ll see.
