Tim Drake was perfectly happy with being a beta. Just like his parents Jake and Janet, something that was stable to say the least. While betas still had instincts the same as other dynamics, he wouldn’t be subjected to heats and ruts. He would also be more resistant to smells and whatnot. Overall he could just be less careful about things.

Summary
The world fell to the apocalypse, and while Jason survived the initial outbreak, he wasn't kept safe from the infection. Jason died. Then, Jason came back, a zombie but conscious, rot and decay halted, and painfully aware of the world around him.
But Jason is still dead, nothing can change that. Jason Todd was dead the moment he caught that clown's eye. Instead, Jason becomes Red Hood, donning a helmet and wielding whatever weapons may come his way, in hopes of bringing down the Joker's empire of chaos.
