Plot: Anne comes over to G's house about a week after Mary died. Gilbert wants Anne to talk to him about Mary, he tells her he doesn’t want to be a doctor anymore, Anne has a whole speech 'You are failing in no one's eyes but your own, so *rise*!' it was very Anne. And then there's peace when she leaves and readers realise G is in love with her but he doesn't
Characterisation: PERFECT. Anne's speech was very 'You will be a *wonderful* doctor.' and saving K'akwet determined passion.
Writing: yes!
Romance scenes: sorta? Not so much because this was their friendship era.
