Chapter 1: Operation Red Driver

Chapter Text

“Marinette hit me earlier!” Lila cried to the class. They stared daggers at Marinette who was sitting in the back with Chloe. Adrien just sighed. He knew Lila was lying but as long as the class was happy, everything would be great.

“Marinette! I should’ve known you were nothing but a bully. I can’t believe we used to be friends.” Alya yelled at the blue haired girl.

“Ok.” Marinette said without looking up from her schoolwork.

“Why aren’t you reacting?” Alya’s boyfriend yelled.

“Because I really don’t care.” Marinette said, like it was the simplest thing to understand. Adrien just shook his head. Why can’t she just go along? If she did there would be a lot less drama. Everything would go back to normal. The bell suddenly rang, dismissal. Once everyone got all their things, they went out. Like normal, the red car with tinted windows was in the front of the line of cars. Marinette went and opened the passenger door. She got in like usual. Nobody knew who drove it or where it went. It started showing up a month ago. Marinette’s house was right by the school, walking distance so it obviously wasn’t there. In all honesty, Adrien was concerned. There could be some criminal in there for all he knew. He knew they had to be above 18, after all they were driving it. He couldn’t look through the windows, they were tinted. He just hoped Marinette is alright and not being taken advantage of. His car was right behind and he quickly got in.

The next day was like normal, Lila claiming Marinette did something terrible and the class blowing up at her. Marinette just sighed and moved on. She had recently resigned as class president and Alya took her place, with Lila as her deputy. Marinette somehow had the highest grades. Alya thinks she got Chloe to pay the teacher for them. Adrien knew Marinette was just smart, but wasting her energy on Lila. Though lately it seemed she cared less and less.

When school let out Adrien checked his phone, he got a text from his father saying his bodyguard would be late. The red car was not.

“Alya, I’m worried who drives that car. They might be grooming Marinette. I mean have you seen her face when she gets into that car?” Lila acted worried.

“Marinette doesn’t need our worries, she deserves whatever happens to her. But even so, if they might be hurting other people, we should stop them.” Alya said. Adrien started thinking. If she was being groomed, that would explain her strange behavior.

“Dude, are you in?” Nino asked.

“Huh, what?” Adrien asked, seeming confused.

“Are you going to help us find out who the driver is?” The boy asked.

Adrien slowly nodded. This would be good for them all.

And so, Operation Red Driver began.
