   Summary

   Like it tired of Kira, the world tires of L and Near finds himself unexpectedly marooned in a vulnerable position. Winding up submerged to his ears in hot water with no clear way to turn, he finds an ally in a man he never expected to see again. Light Yagami has changed, perhaps for the better but perhaps for the worse, and the scars that he bears run far deeper than skin. Yet the self-reformed serial killer may well be his only hope.
   And it might just kill them both.
