Comebacks are always a stressful time for any idol, that was no different for Jimin. He grabs his phone to turn off his alarm before it starts blaring into his already throbbing head. He’s been having trouble sleeping lately. Something is just nagging in the back of his head and it's starting to piss him off. He just lays there basking in the little darkness before anyone bothers him; however, that doesn’t last long as his door opens and the scent of chocolate fudge attacks his nose. Then a towering figure is standing over him.
“Chim, wake up, or Jungkook and I will eat your breakfast !” Taehyung jokes. Jimin sits up glaring at Taehyung, “Yah I'm up, now get out so I can get ready, ” He hisses back at the elder. Taehyung gasps at that with a little smirk after the initial shock that their sweet maknae is giving attitude.
“Ah looks like someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed, how could you talk to your hyung like that pup. I deserve an apology, hmm” he takes a moment to think with his hand on his nose the other gripping his slender waist, making it more dramatic than it needs to be but it’s Taehyung so not very surprising. “ aha I know what you can do to make it up to me,” grinning at Jimin as he says it.
He’s already over it at this point, not in the mood to deal with Taehyung's antics, and just grunts out, “what do you want Tae?”
“I want a big hug and for you to tell me that I'm your favorite hyung.” He explains. Jimin just wants to get ready and eat because he’s starving. Knowing Tae will not leave until he gets what he wants, he pulls his tired body out of bed and over to Tae who already has his arms open wide for the smaller. “You are my favorite hyung Tae,” he sarcastically obeys his demand. “Can I get ready now hyung, Jin-hyung won't let any of us eat if we don't hurry up!” He mutters into the chest he’s engulfed in. “You're right I should probably go change too,” Tae says as he sprints off to his and Jungkook's shared room.
Finally alone again in his room Jimin makes sure to lock the door so no one else can bother him. Grabbing clothes he goes into the conjoined bathroom to have a quick shower; he turns the water on burning hot to try and soothe his achy muscles knowing it’s gonna feel even worse later today after slaving away in the dance studio for hour.
Once under the soothing spray of steaming water, he starts to think about why he's so irritated recently, he's eighteen now so he could be presenting any day now it's been five months since his birthday. Really starting to lean into the thought he lists off things like how he’s irritated, easily annoyed, restless, hungry all the time, and other things he doesn’t think are important. After he thinks of his symptoms he looks back to when Tae and Jungkook presented; them being the only ones who presented after he joined the group and debuted. They acted how he's acting but there is one big difference.
aggression.
Back when Tae and Jungkook were presenting they started getting very aggressive with each other, getting to the point of physical fights. A great deal of those fights had to do with omegas, who's hotter, who wants to sleep with who, calling dibs on the cute omega girl at an award show. Alphas are so insensitive and only think with their dicks, but then think they are better than everyone else. That always bothered Jimin, not wanting to go down the alpha hate train right now, instead thinking back to what else they did.
They tried to challenge the older alphas; Yoongi would make sure they knew their place as pups, and they would always back down eventually. With Namjoon they would act up and try to get him to fight with them, and he did because he wants to make sure everyone in the pack acknowledges and trusts him to be the pack leader.
The thought of trying to challenge any alpha sends shivers down his spine in the scorching water. This confuses him even more if he's supposed to be an alpha it should make him bubble in the thrill of butting heads with another alpha.
It doesn't.
He could just be a beta then, yeah betas are great. Jin hyung and Hobi hyung are what glue this pack together. They are very important, if it wasn't for them the dorm would be drowning in alpha tantrums. The betas know how to keep a level head in times of need no matter what that is.
He just doesn't feel like a beta.
Pondering on it more he thinks of omegas, they are lovers always wanting to care and assist their pack. They are beautiful, looking at them you're just in aw, they are also very smart. They had to work to get to where we are now in society, back then alphas and betas thought of omegas as weak and only good to bear their pup.
They are so much more than that and they went and proved it fighting for the freedom to be seen as an equal with the other subgenders; show that they are just as good as them and they proved it in the years to come. They are now our doctors, professors, scientists, and politicians. Omegas are respected in society now, unfortunately, that doesn’t mean they don’t face discrimination.
Omegas are doubted and shamed, harassed and abused, raped and murdered. It’s so much better now than what it used to be but it doesn't mean it's not a scary place to be. Just walking to your local coffee shop can be terrifying not knowing what could happen to you on the way.
This saddens him. could he be an omega?
He was always a sweet caring person seeking attention and praise from others, he didn’t quite like making decisions, always trusting his pack to know what's best. During those times he would goof off or try and cuddle the others not listening to anything being said.
His mother says he’s a carefree spirit. Always looking for the good in those around him. She is an omega herself and one of the most important people in his life, she would always be by his side backing him up on all his adventures. She supported every decision he made like becoming an idol trainee and moving to Seoul, though it hurt to see him go at such a young age she was proud of him. His father was on the same wavelength as her, loving and supporting him no matter what. His father was always someone he looked up to and wanted to be like when he presented, a big strong protective alpha.
His parents always said it doesn’t matter what he presents as they will love him.
Being an omega isn’t bad so why does he feel sick thinking about it.
