As soon as he was free from the sarcophagus, Steven threw himself at Marc, clinging to him tightly. Marc hugged him back, his strong arms circling Steven’s back and making him feel entirely safe and protected.
They murmured each others names softly, happy to finally be able to touch and hold each other.
Steven had only known of Marc for a few weeks, but from the moment he saw Marc’s face in the storage unit, he had instantly fallen in love. Marc had felt the same way, and after a few discussions, they had fallen into a strange, but wonderful relationship.
The only drawback of being in love with your alter was that Steven couldn’t hold Marc (or vice versa). He wasn’t able to hug him or kiss him. Until now.
Now, Steven buried his face in the crook of Marc’s neck, relishing in the feel of Marc’s arms around him. “Oh, Marc…” Steven murmured. Marc smiled at him. “I know,” he said.
Then Marc was kissing him, and he was kissing Marc back. Steven wound his hands in Marc’s hair, pulling him closer. Marc’s soft lips on his were the most amazing sensation Steven had ever experienced.
He could have gone on like this forever, but Marc pulled away slightly. He leaned his forehead against Steven’s. “I wish we could keep going, but we need to go,” Marc said.
Steven frowned in disappointment, but he removed his hands from Marc’s back and stepped back. Marc gave him a reassuring smile. “Don’t worry, I’ll protect you.”
Steven smiled at him. “I’m not worried,” he said. “I’m with you.”
