Masaki knew he had to join houjou but he couldn't help but think about what sunahara said to him when they fought.
"I don't care if.. our paths diverge but what will you do? and what will you say to them?"
"Are you saying asagiri and the others aren't your friends!?"
it wasn't supposed to be like this. they were supposed to overthrow Higuchi together.
Masaki didn't know when he started caring about his friends much less asagiri.
the first time he met asagiri was when he rushed to "defend" him from his supposed bullies.
he remembered being so annoyed
asagiri walked behind the school with seshita and saw a blonde with an eye patch surrounded by a group of guys.
he didn't know they had bullied kids
in mitsumine.
he went up to the guy he assumed was the leader, the guy said "what do you want"
"to congratulate you for being a bully" responded asagiri
seshita looked shocked, the other guys were murmuring rumors they heard about him.
asagiri continued "I could never turn a blind eye when someone's being bullied. haven't you heard that about me? it's a pretty well-known fact 'round sendagi"
he turned towards the blonde looking smug "now's your chance to run eyepatch..."
all of a sudden he's being punched.
he lands on his back, the blonde standing over him "Asagiri, huh? you're getting in my way."
the blonde had a knife and stabbed the main guy in the thigh.
he was brought down to his knees
"tell sunahara to come himself next time"
the rest of them ran off.
asagiri stared at the blonde as he smokes
"Hey! you don't have to be that scared, you know."
"of me" he added quietly
the blonde looked at him questioningly
he just continued "I assure you I'm your ally. so leave the rest to me or rather could you please leave the rest to me?"
seshita pulled asagiri away into a chokehold and started reprimanding him for being so cocky.
they start bickering when they were interrupted by laughing.
they turn and see the blonde laughing.
they start walking away freaked out
"friggin' weirdo... is that what bullying does to a guy?"
"if you wanna remain in one piece don't involve yourself with him"
"about a month ago Masaki set another student on fire and nearly burnt him alive" seshita warned
asagiri looked freaked out
as he was about to ask more questions a ton of people started to surround them.
the guy Masaki stabbed yelled out "this time, Masaki you're dead!"
asagiri started counting the guys and he reached 30 and immediately tries to walk away stating he has nothing to do with this.
one of the guys stopped asagiri and grabbed his shoulder "aren't you asagiri?"
he laughed and continued "look's like Masaki brought along a big-shot. you're going down with him"
asagiri looked him in the eyes "what" and punched him straight in the nose sending him flying.
everyone around looked shocked even Masaki.
"what do you mean 'brought along'?! IM THE MAIN CHARACTER HERE!" asagiri points at himself
chuckling Masaki came up behind asagiri and grabbed his shoulder "you're funny, but seriously. get out of my way or I'll kill you"
asagiri looked at him confused "WHAT WAS THAT!? I'M THE MAIN CHARACTER GOT IT!?"
they start fighting together. Masaki annoyed said "Hey what are you doing? i... I didn't ask for your help!"
behind Masaki someone was aiming to hit him with a pipe, asagiri jumped and landed on the guy's head, and used it as a step to get on top of the brick wall behind the school.
once he got on top he said "so long..."
as he left Masaki watched as he left, as he looked up he was distracted and got hit by a bat.
he dropped to his knees and was hit again and again with the bat.
as the student went to hit him again Masaki smashed his face with a big rock.
the bandage on his eye unraveled and his face was covered in blood thanks to the multiple attacks by a bat.
he got up bringing his knife out ready to take on all these men by himself he feels someone grabbing the collar of his coat.
it was asagiri he came back
Masaki was yelling at him to let go but asagiri didn't so Masaki brought the knife to the hand holding him up and stabbed him.
"you really like playing hard to get," asagiri says as he pulls masaki up onto the wall.
asagiri points to the right and says "this way, minion #2"
asagiri starts running, "...what's wrong with him..." masaki says as he watches him run but he follows after him
after that day masaki started following asagiri
It was stupid he doesn't know why he did it, maybe he does.
Maybe it's because he left.
Maybe it's because he came back.
but it was never supposed to be like this, it would be easier if he wasn't here.
but if he wasn't he would still be alone.
asagiri was so strange to him, it started as an annoyance but now he can't even place he feels about asagiri
masaki doesn't know when the line was crossed.
But suddenly he felt like asagiri was a friend but it wasn't like how he and sunahara were friends, it was different an uncomfortable different. a different that cares about impressing asagiri.
He would never talk about it to anyone, he would rather die than actually talk about his feeling, whatever they are.
But after sunahara said that to him it's all he can think of.
since asagiri likes to call whatever they have a gang, he knows asagiri won't just forget this.
He knows asagiri is stupid ass shit but being a "traitor" in his eyes might not be forgivable.
He hates to admit it but he doesn't want to hear rejection coming from asagiri.
the war isn't even over yet and he's already trying to figure out how to apologize.
asagiri is one of the only guys... he felt he could look up to, that's why he has to apologize for what he did.
