The Nameless Ones
Do not get up again
I felt their life drain

Others Who Are MIA
I walk through streets no longer drowning in blood, Hearing phantom screams, gurgles, and gasping breaths

Hundreds Who Will Not Return Home
Standing at the foot of The Empire State Building, I can only watch in horror as their gruesome demises replay in my mind, the battle raging around them as they call out for help that will be too late
No one else will notice them until after the fact, but I can feel their auras fading all at once
I did not know them well, but there is so much destruction I can’t not notice it
The shrieks and cries as souls beg to be let back in, to be given another chance
No one else has the powers I do, they cannot witness death as I do
Somewhere deep in my still beating heart, underneath the need for someone to understand, I know it is for the best.
