Work Text:

Nick sits on the sofa of 1031 in shorts and a band tee(yung gravy’s “got milfs?” tee, to be exact), skimming through some random book he found on the side table. He checked his watch. On a day like this, his boyfriend should’ve been back by now. The demon paused, smiling. His boyfriend.

Nick and Lynn started going out a couple months ago, a few years of Nick’s constant bothering finally paying off when he (semi-jokingly) asked Lynn out, and had to ask for clarification when the angel said yes. Since then, they’ve been practically attached at the hip during their free time, Nick always finding some way to keep close to the other. Even now, he couldn’t help but beam every time he was reminded of it. The man he so dearly coveted was finally his, and, against his own instinct, he wasn’t going to run away this time.

However, he was getting a bit peckish, so he definitely wouldn’t stay waiting on the sofa, either. Nick got up, setting the book down and shuffling over to the fridge, scouring the shelves for a snack to hold him over.

“Ohoho… What have we here?” Nick asks, his question directed to nobody in particular. He pulls out a container from behind some leftovers, ignoring the note that says, ‘Nick, do not eat.’ The demon pops open the container to admire the tiny desserts, still halfway in the fridge. “Mini Belgian cream puffs… I am going to marry you, Angel.”

“Is that so?” A familiar voice responds, and Nick almost bumps his head on the fridge as he scrambles to face the other, his face now beet red from being caught off guard like that.

“There you are! I was waiting for you.” Nick shoves the cream puffs back into the fridge, now turning to greet the angel, his tail swinging wildly in excitement.

In a stark contrast to the demon’s casual attire, Lynn is sporting his signature sweater vest and button up combo, finishing up his look with brown slacks. He’s carrying a rather full bag of groceries, eyeing Nick in a way that both expresses his admiration and also scolds him for blocking the fridge.

“Oh, I’ll help you with those. Go get comfortable.” Nick takes the groceries from Lynn, beginning to organize the contents of the fridge as he finds a place for everything.

Lynn mumbled some form of compliance to Nick’s request, and the demon could hear his light footsteps as he left to sit down on the sofa. Nick hurriedly puts away the rest of the groceries before hurrying over to join the other.

“That was quick. Did you Tetris everything again?” Lynn teases, turning his attention to Nick as he sits down.

“No, why would I ever do that?” The demon’s response is not convincing at all, but his hand cupping Lynn’s face is enough to quell any reprimanding from the angel. Instead, Nick is greeted with a soft hum as Lynn leans into the touch. “I missed you Angel. I was so bored without you.”

“Some of us have lives, you know.” The angel retorts, grasping Nick’s face with one hand on each side and pulling him into a kiss. His thumbs brush against the demon’s cheekbones, and his eyes close as he feels Nick’s hands grab ahold of his waist, the demon attempting to shiftily move onto his lap.

They pull away for just a brief moment so Nick can tease him once more. “Wow. So waiting around for the most attractive man ever doesn’t qualify as a life. Got it. Rude.”

“I like when you get all dramatic.” Lynn’s response to the taunt is sincere, and the demon can’t help but melt a little. He presses his lips back against the angel’s, a hand making its way to the back of Lynn’s neck, pulling him further into the kiss.

The angel, meanwhile, slowly began to slide a hand up Nick’s thigh, eliciting a quiet moan from the demon. In retaliation, Nick lightly bit the other's bottom lip, his free hand beginning to untuck Lynn's shirt. Seeing as things were getting a bit heated, Lynn reluctantly pulled away. He took a moment to collect his breath, pressing his forehead to Nick's. The demon let out a small whimper, upset that the moment had ended so soon.

"Nick." Lynn began, leaning back and eyeing the other. "We're in the living room. People are bound to return soon." The angel's hand was still squeezing Nick's thigh, and he could hardly concentrate on anything Lynn was saying.

"So what's the plan, Angel?" The demon asks, moving against the other's lap in a way that wasn't too noticeable visually, but he couldn't exactly ignore it.

Lynn grumbles to himself before speaking, a little distracted by Nick's movement. "We could go back to your place." His suggestion was blunt, but the tint of pink on the angel's cheeks suggested that he was just the tiniest bit embarrassed.

Nick, however, was ecstatic. Which was obvious by the fact his tail was swinging a mile a minute. Sure, they had moments like this before, but it was normally by Nick's initiation. He stood up, grabbing Lynn by the arm and pulling him up from the couch and into a kiss. The demon contemplated just continuing to make out with Lynn, but for the sake of the angel not getting harassed by his tenants, Nick pulled away.

He turned away from Lynn and stepped over to a painting, picking it up to reveal the summoning circle he had used to enter earlier in the day. Lynn stood by the couch, dumbfounded. No matter how much it happened, he would always be caught off guard by Nick's surprise bouts of affection. He shuffled over to the demon as he got ready to leave, wrapping his arms around his waist and pulling Nick into an embrace, his head resting in the crook of the demon's neck. His arms snaked under Nick's shirt, moving up his chest.

"Lynn…" Nick began to protest, but shut up promptly after the angel began to suck on his neck, leaving small marks that would definitely be noticeable to anyone.

However, after a moment of teasing the demon, Lynn stopped, stepping away and gazing at him with a look of adoration. Nick meets his gaze, cocking an eyebrow in confusion.

“What’re you looking at me like that for, angel?” His words are light and airy, and his sentence ended in an awkward laugh.

“I just love you, that’s all.” Lynn plants a kiss on the demon’s cheek and begins to shuffle to the nearest window.

“I love you too. See you soon, Lynn.” Nick coos, waving bye as he climbs into the circle. The angel watches him leave before flying out the window, thinking of the other the whole flight.

Abu stands in the doorway, facing the living room. He had been lucky enough to not witness things get too bad, instead just returning as the two were leaving. Lynn and Nick’s relationship is no secret to anyone, but watching them sneak off to see each other was not on the mummy’s roster for the day.

Ira’s smash tournament was, however. As his roommates return home and begin to question the whereabouts of their landlord, Abu stays silent, his focus entirely on what color Zelda he would be playing.
