Summary:

Add's past holds many secrets.

Eve wants to know what the fuck is going on with him.

Notes:

This kind of popped into my head, and plus I had to get Eve to know about his past for plot reasons. Takes place during the events of chapter 4 (unreleased as of now, so a little early but eh)

Chapter 1: Favor for a Friend

Chapter Text

Add had been in his room all day. Any other “normal” person would have seen it as odd, but Eve was not just a “normal person”. The scientist should have knocked her door down to harass her by now. But the hallway lay silent, and Add showed no sign of appearing anytime soon.

There was a knock on her door. There he was. She summoned Oberon, gesturing for him to wait beside her. She sighed as she picked herself up off the floor, making her way through a cluster of books stacked dangerously high.

She threw the door open, her palm raised to slap the bastard who dared disturbed her. She was surprised to find the purple haired mage in the place of her least favorite psychopath.

She looked over at Oberon, dismissing him with the flick of her wrist. She smiled at the mage, inviting her inside with a wave. They made their way through the cluttered room until they reached a couch. Eve pushed a stack of papers to the side, quietly apologizing as she sat down. The mage paid no mind.

The both sat facing each other, neither of them uttering a word. The silence was finally broken by the mage.

“Do you have any clue what the deal with Add is?”

“What part of him?”

The mage covered up her laughter with a cough.

“I mean, why’s he so- well, you know, fucked up mentally?”

“Some people are just born that way. He’s a raging psychopath, end of story.”

“Well I wanted to double check anyway. I’ve got a class to teach, but if you have any free time, mind doing me a favor?”

The mage never asked for favors. Whatever she was to ask of the queen, it was either highly illegal, or highly dangerous. She thought it over for a minute, deciding that the risk outweighed her boredom.

Plus, it might provide insight into what had happened that night. She had failed to ask anyone about it, lest they react the same way the scholar had. She nodded, sealing her fate.

“How may I provide assistance?”

“I want you to go back and take a look at Add’s past.”

oh

Oh

OH

So this was the suicide mission she was signing up for.

She could take apart and reconstruct her own entire body.

She could open up a portal and dive into the demon realm.

She could throw herself in front of a freight train.

All of these seemed like much safer, much more fun options. There was no way she could go back. Judging by how secretive Add was about his past, she’d be dead before the sun rose when he inevitably found out. Plus, it’s not like something interesting had actually happened.

Right?

The image of Add with slit wrists jumped back into the front of her mind. Perhaps she could figure out what that was all about.

“Alright, I’ll go.”

Aisha beamed at her. “Great! So it’s not a complete time regression, you’ll be a passive bystander. No one will be able to see or hear you, and you won’t be able to interact with your surroundings. Just follow Add around for a bit and see if anything happens.”

Eve stood up in front of the mage, readying herself. The purple haired mage waved her staff, sending Eve off before leaving the room, shutting the door behind her.
