"It’s not particularly windy outside, but Hugo still looks like he narrowly escaped a hurricane when he bursts into Crowley’s.
Varian nearly passes out. He's hit with dual waves of relief to see the object of his affections unharmed, and anxiety over—well, everything else. But surely Hugo didn't know about what happened. There was no way he'd know unless someone told him. Still, doubt creeps into his heart at the strangely wrathful expression the blond is sporting.
He slaps on his best Customer Service Smile. “Hi, what can I—”
“I already know,” Hugo cuts him off with a pointed glance at where his arm is hidden under the counter. “So you don’t have to pretend, or whatever.” With a sigh, Varian moves back, holding in a cringe when Hugo’s eyes flicker down to look at his cast."
