it was half passed midnight and isogai was still up, studying for the school’s midterms. he was over at karma’s house for what karma called a “study date” and had only planned to stay until dinner. he didn’t expect to be revising until the ungodly hours of the night. all of a sudden, he felt a pair of strong arms wrap around his waist and something nuzzle into the crook of his neck.
“isogai~ let’s go to bed..” it was karma. he was half asleep, isogai could tell by the way he was pouting against his skin and his tone sounded whiny. he found it quite adorable how the other was being so clingy to him. they’ve been in each other’s presence all day, yet he still wanted more. he couldn’t stop himself from pressing a kiss to the top of karma’s head as he continued nuzzling his face.
“i’m not sleeping over, karma. i’ll just finish this chapter then head back home. i’ll make up for this date after exams.” isogai said softly, earning a whine from the other. karma lifted his face from his neck and tightened his grip on his waist as he began trailing kisses on isogai’s shoulders.
“stay.” he said in barely a whisper. rather than a cold, commanding tone, it was a soft and almost melancholic tone.
isogai melted at his boyfriend’s affection. it was times like these where karma showed how much he loved the latter, always wanting to be close to him and physically showing the immense amount of love he has for him. isogai let out a sigh, refusing to give into the other’s wishes. as much as he wanted to cuddle him to sleep, he had a few more chapters to revise. moreover, he had to go back home to take care of his family.
“i’m sorry, karma. trust me when i say i wanna cuddle with you just as much. but.. i have to study. and go back home for my family.” he felt incredibly guilty for saying that, fearing that he’s broken karma’s heart.
“i can send someone to watch over your family tonight. and if you wanna keep studying.. can you at least sit on my lap until you finish?” karma says against his skin as he presses soft kisses up and down the side of isogai’s neck to the back of his ear. isogai was at his breaking point upon seeing how endearing the other was being. “fine. you win.”
isogai was now sitting on top of karma’s lap, the latter’s arms still wrapped around his waist rather loosely now that he’s drifted to sleep. karma’s head was nuzzled into the crook of his neck, seemingly his new favorite spot.
a few minutes passed and isogai finally finished revising for the exams. he was exhausted, but he was looking forward to cuddling with his boyfriend and drift off to a peaceful slumber.
“karma? hey, i just finished. let’s go to bed.” he said, loud enough to be able to wake him up, but soft enough to not startle him. he received a light snore in reply. isogai let out a loving sigh, oh how endearing he found karma to be.
he unwrapped karma’s arms from his waist and stood up from the comfortable seat of his lap. he picked up karma bridal style and carried him to the bed in his room, putting a blanket over him after settling him on the bed.
isogai carefully slipped inside the blanket, careful not to wake karma, but he was already awake. he quickly pulled isogai towards him and spooned him immediately. one arm was wrapped around his waist as usual while the other was on top of his head, which was nuzzled into his chest. he rested his chin on top of the other’s head as he let out a satisfied sigh. isogai smiled softly against the other’s chest, already feeling well-rested and energized after studying for hours on end.
karma repositioned his face to press his own forehead against that of isogai’s, staring deeply into his tired eyes. he took the hand that was previously rested on top of the other’s head and grabbed one of his hands, intertwining his fingers with his own. he brought his hand close to his lips and began peppering it with kisses, whispering soft “i love you”s and “my yuma”s every now and then.
isogai completely melted under his touch. he took his free hand and cupped karma’s cheek, gently rubbing it and whispering a “my karma” in exchange. karma then removed his lips from the other’s hand and began peppering kisses on his face instead. from his temples down to his eyelids, to his nose, to his cheeks. finally, pressing the softest kiss known to the two of them on the lips.
they fall asleep with their lips on top of each other’s. they felt like they were on heaven’s cloud, embraced in each other’s warmth and affection.
