Chapter Text
Severus held you in his arms; making sure you were settled as he watched Lucius step into the fireplace with one hand holding Draco’s hand and his other hand holding Harry’s. Lucius spoke loudly and clearly: “Diagon Alley” and in a flash of green flames all three of them disappeared.
You shifted a bit as Severus stepped into the fireplace and you looked up at him when he spoke the same words Lucius had spoke and then in a flash you both were gone and whirling through time and space – only to land a few moments later in a fireplace in one of the shops in Diagon Alley. You whined a little but surprisingly did not cry as Severus climbed out of the fireplace still holding you to meet Lucius and your brothers. “Did she do okay?”, Lucius asked when Severus had found them, and your Daddy looked down at you fondly “Better than I expected – there were no tears this time”.
A kiss was placed on top of your head, and you started to look at your surroundings; squirming sightly as you wanted to get down to explore. “Hold on a second, baby”, your Daddy told you – carrying you out of the shop and into the bright daylight of London before finally setting you on the ground; quickly grabbing your hand before you could wander too far. You looked at the ground beneath you and bent down to touch it – hearing the excited talk of your brothers as they discussed the stores they wanted to see, and you could hear the more quiet murmurs of your Daddies as they discussed the plans for today.
Before you could explore the ground further, warm hands were placed under your arms, and you were scooped up into your Papa’s arms. “We will meet you at Madam Malkin’s”, Lucius said to Severus before walking fast to catch up to Harry and Draco who were hurrying up the street as they were anxious to get to the Quidditch store. You soon entered the shop and you looked wide eyed at all of the things to see from the safety of your Papa’s arms.
Lucius let Harry and Draco free to explore with strict instructions to not leave the store before starting to walk around himself so you could look at all of the items for sale. You marveled at hovering brooms, rows of quidditch gear, books on quidditch, and even a small case that held a collection of balls used in quidditch – some of which were struggling to break free of their bonds. You were far too little to actually ride a broom, but you watched as your brother Harry clambered onto the hovering broom on display marveling at the specs and smoothness of the design before letting Draco have a try. They both had quality brooms at home – specifically made for littles with a slower speed time and barriers from them reaching too high a height but they did not have the latest model broom which was the one on display.
After trying to convince Lucius to buy the broom for them – which was met with a stern no as they already had brooms at home – Lucius bought each of the brothers a new book on Quidditch to their delight as this one had little pop up characters that could detach from the book and swoop around their heads when the right spell was made.
You then left the shop and your Papa with a firm grip on Harry’s hand and Draco walking closely nearby – walked to Madam Malkin’s shop where your Daddy was waiting. He had gone on to the apothecary store by himself as it was a far too dangerous store for littles with all types of potions and valuable potion ingredients laying about and then he had gone to Flourish and Blotts to pick up the newest schoolbooks for Draco and Harry and as a gift for himself – a newer edition of the potions book he already owned – updated now with even more potion recipes and ideas. Your Papa placed you in your Daddy’s arms as he ushered Draco and Harry into the shop as they needed new school robes – at the sight of your pout as you wanted to go into the store too – Severus stepped into the shop but stood at the back as to not get into the way.
You watched curiously as you saw a flying tape measure swoop and dive around Draco to get his measurements before the tape measurement flew over to measure Harry. After the measurements were made – the shop owner pulled out two robes – one with the house of Gryffindor on it and the other the house of Slytherin. As she continued her work – you turned to your Daddy. “Why are they getting robes? Why don’t I get any?”, you look confused and output as Severus paused to think before answering; “The robes are for the school that your brothers go to - Hogwarts”, Severus clarified at your confused look. “Why don’t I go with them? I want to go to magic school!”, you said as you remembered that Hogwarts was the place that witches and wizards went to - to learn magic. “You’re too little sweetheart”, Severus calmly replied to you. You pouted at that – that seemed to always be the excuse you were told – before you could say anything else – your Papa appeared with a bag of fresh robes in hand. “All set?”, your Daddy asked, and your Papa nodded – grabbing one hand of each of your brothers as you all left the store.
The next stop was Eeylops Owl Emporium and your Daddy set you down keeping a firm eye on you as you wandered around the store marveling at all the pretty owls. You had seen owls deliver mail to the house occasionally and your Daddies even owned an owl, but it was not allowed to roam freely in the house due to the mess it would make. You marveled as one owl spread its wings and ruffled its feathers before taking off – soaring around the room. After the owl shop – you visited Magical Menagerie which had an assortment of magical pets to be able to adopt. You looked at all the cats meowing at the top of the shop and jumped back a little shock when one cat walked by – its long tail brushing your legs as it walked past. Then you were scooped up and taken out of the shop into the fresh air and you looked around – seeing how busy the streets were getting now.
“Should we get some lunch before making our last two stops?”, your Daddy asked while also sticking a finger in the back of your nappy to check for wetness. “She needs a change as well”, he stated which caused you to blush. “We can head to the leaky cauldron”, Lucius replied while grabbing ahold of Draco who was trying to sneak past him to go to the ice cream store. “We will head to Florean’s after we have lunch not before”, Lucius said a bit sternly. You held on to your Daddy as he navigated the busy streets before heading into a small inn and heading into the bathroom at the back and quickly changing you before asking going to a booth by a window where your Papa and your brothers were sitting at . The table looked out onto the business of the street and your Daddy put you in your high chair – laying a small plastic sheet across the table section in front of you for your food.
You watched the people walking by on the streets as everyone discussed what they wanted for lunch. Harry and Draco both wanted the bangers (sausages) and mash (mashed potatoes) and your Papa was thinking of the stew of the day while your Daddy considered getting the toad in the hole as well as ordering a small bowl of mac n cheese for you. The waiter soon came to collect drink and food orders and then soon went away again – but luckily you did not have to wait long until a bowl of mac n cheese was put in front of you along with a fork which was taken away from you as you always had to be fed. Your Papa fed you in between bites of your own food – allowing you to wash your food down with a sips of juice that they had packed for you.
Once everyone was fed and the meal was paid for – everyone exited the inn for one last stop. Severus decided to take you and your brothers to the little shop in Diagon Alley while Lucius would go on to Gringotts bank to withdraw some more money for the family and he would meet everyone at the ice cream parlor for a small treat before heading back home.
The stop at the little story was supposed to be a fun and quick stop – allowing you to pick out a few new toys and items as you were the newest addition to the family and also allowing Draco and Harry to pick out one new toy each for behaving so well on the shopping trip but unfortunately things were never as easy as they seemed
