(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Sonic once again is here at the Sol Dimension to visit Blaze for either sparring practice or a race. But somehow one of the guards wouldn't allow him to see her because she is having a music lesson. Sonic really wanted to see Blaze, so he tricked the guard saying that Marnie caused an explosion at the deck, which he fell for, and Sonic speeds off to find Blaze.

Sonic searches through all of the doors of the castle to find Blaze and to get her out of the music class to do some training or racing, when he heard something across the hall. It was really pretty.

Sonic walks over to where the sound is and peaks through the glass window door to see Blaze playing a piano. So this is the music class Blaze is taking? It's only just here and a piano.

Sonic didn't know Blaze could play piano that good and he didn't want to get Blaze out of there and stop her beautiful music. So, he sat on the floor and listens to Blaze's piano music skill.

After what seem like minutes or hours, the door suddenly opens and Sonic falls backwards, landing on his back.

"Sonic?"

Sonic looks up and sees Blaze's surprised face.

"How ungrateful of you to just suddenly show up and bother the princess' lesson!" Her teacher said in disgust.

"Wait, what? I didn't came in and bother Blaze's lesson! Okay, I was going to, but-"

The teacher didn't even let Sonic finish. "GUARDS!"

"No, no! It's fine!" Blaze stopped her teacher before the guards came and take Sonic away. "Sonic is a friend of mine and he can stay here for a bit, if he likes, right Sonic?"

Sonic looks at Blaze for a moment, reading her eyes that said 'Play along,' so he gives a nod.

"Hmph. Very well, your highness. Once this break is over, we will continue our lesson and he has to leave. Understand?"

"Yes ma'am."

"Yeah, sure lady."

The teacher gives Sonic a glare, then leaves the room.

Sonic sighs in relief, gets up from the floor, and approaches to Blaze. "Thanks for the save there, Blaze. I honestly thought I was going to be thrown out."

"Sonic, why are you here?"

"Oh, right. I was originally going to break you out of class so we can either do training or having a fun race. I haven't decided which to do, but then I heard you playing that piano, and it sounded beautiful and I couldn't interrupt you to stop playing that."

Blaze can feel her cheeks being warm when Sonic said those words. "Oh… Um… Thank you… I didn't think anyone would find me playing the piano beautiful or something."

"Yeah. And I didn't think I would be fond of music." Sonic then sits next to Blaze. "Do you think you can play it again?"

"I barely know any of the key notes of the song."

"Still, I wanna hear you play it again."

Blaze was silent for a moment, until finally she played that beautiful song once more on the piano. The song is so beautiful that Sonic closes his eyes and listens to it.

He then lays his head on Blaze's shoulder, which Blaze is surprised by as she is playing, but she lets him be there as she continues playing the beautiful music Sonic loves so much.

It doesn't last long until the teacher came back with the guard and kicked him out the room so Blaze could continue with her lesson. Sonic has all of the time in the world to wait for Blaze to finish with her lesson so they can do either their sparring training or the race, but somehow Sonic can't get that music out of his head.

It's most likely his favorite one.
