Work Text:
Sonic is laying on the ground at a field in the Sol Dimension with his arms behind his head like he always does as he takes in the fresh air out here.
He then hears the sound of footsteps coming his way. He opens his eyes and sees Blaze staring down at him. "I see you are enjoying a nice time here in the middle of nowhere."
"Yup. There's nothing like a nice sunny day to just lay out here in a field and take in that fresh air." Sonic stretches his arms a bit and then putting them back behind his arm. "Care to join me, Blaze?"
"I appreciate the offer, Sonic, but I rather not."
"Come on, it wouldn't hurt to try it."
Blaze thinks for a moment, then she lays down on the ground next to Sonic. "So, what now?"
"Now just relax and do nothing but stare at the sky."
"Doesn't that sound a little boring?"
"Maybe, but that's part of the relaxation."
Blaze stares at the sky for a bit, but there is nothing but clouds. "How is staring at the sky relaxing when all I see is clouds?"
"Well, cloud watching may be boring too, but it can also be fun if you imagine any cloud you see to be something else." Sonic spots a rounded shape cloud. "Like that cloud over there. Doesn't it look like Eggman?"
Blaze looks at the rounded shape cloud. "No. Not really."
"Wow, Blaze, you literally are not good at imagination."
"What's so fun about using your imagination on clouds? It's ridiculous."
"You don't use your imagination just through your brain, but you also use it through your heart as well."
"My heart?"
"I know it sounds a bit weird, but it lets your heart of a child to all of the imagination and be like a kid again. Let's try this again. Does that cloud over there look like Eggman?"
Blaze looks closer at the rounded shape cloud, then it shape-swifts into Eggman. "Yes. Actually, it kind of does."
"There ya go, Blaze! Now you're using your imagination!"
Blaze smiles at Sonic and soon they continue doing a lot of cloud watching and pretending each cloud is something different.
All of the sudden, Blaze grabs Sonic's hand and holds it firmly, which surprises Sonic a bit. He turns his head to face her, but she is too busy watching the clouds that she didn't even notice it.
Sonic smiles a bit and leaves her to her imagination of the clouds and continues to play the game a bit until the sun sets.
