Work Text:
A small pair of hands reached for the bars of the crib in the darkness of his room. It was 2 in the morning, but that doesn't mean everyone is asleep by then. That was certain in the Asano household. A loud weep was heard from the vicinity of the parents bedroom, followed by some babbling, and then more crying. This was the third time in a row in the same night. Lady Asano laid up from her and husband's bed, preparing herself mentality for what her son wanted from her when Gakuho hugged her waist. "Don't worry darling, I'll deal with him" he whispered, his voice low and husk. "Alright then if you say so" she replied snuggling back into the covers, hoping for a good nights rest.
Gakuho got out of the bed feeling drowsy, rubbing his eyes profusely in order to stay awake. He opened the door with eminence force to Gakushu's room where he found the child standing in his cradle, crying. The crying came to abrupt stop however when he saw a tall shadow at the door. Gakuho turned on the little lamp which was enough to illuminate the whole room. He got a clear look of his son, who had puffy eyes and cheeks with snot drooling from his nose and tears dripping from his purple orbs. With a stern expression, he made his way up to the crib and looked at the young infant.
"What is it now Gakushu? It's 2 in the morning". The infant ignored him and continued to wale.
"This is the third time in the same night. We've fed you, we've changed your diaper and we've given you your milk. Please give your mother some rest". More crying.
"We're not giving you milk. You can wait until the morning". This seemed to have angered and upset the child as it let out the loudest cry they had ever heard. The baby cried and cried while he plopped onto the mini mattress inside the crib, smacking it. He then looked up at his father and held his arm out, waiting to be held, maybe even milk.
"I won't hold you in my arms. I know what your doing and your also not getting milk".
The whimpering stopped a little because this, to hear a slight babbling and a sobbing, seemed that the baby want to have the attention of his father. Gakuhou stood there, looking at him in his position and shaking his head while rubbing his eyes. Being a new parent is difficult for anyone.
"I won't hold you"
More babbling, this time stronger than before. It was almost as if the infant wanted to say something to his father from where he was.
"No milk either". The child sobbed again, with more strength.
"Don't look at me like like that".
A moment had passed and the baby was the same, expect now he was trying to communicate, trying to speak. This ultimately didn't work as what he was blabbering couldn't be understood. He hadn't even said his first word yet and he expected people to understand him. Maybe, a little convincing would work in persuading the elder. The baby sniffled before giving Gakuho a pouty face with the most adorable eyes one could see.
"Those eyes and that face wont convince me" he declared. The baby, ignoring his remark continued to pout.
"It won't happen". Even though he was talking to a baby, it really did feel that he was talking to a toddler who was told they weren't getting ice cream for dessert. Those beady purple eyes, the same ones he had, starred back at him demanding justice. Finally, the older man surrendered himself as he leaned into the crib sighing.
"Alright, you win". After stating this, the man simply grabbed his baby and ended up holding him in his arms, rocking him. As expected, the tears stopped instantly as he laid his head on his father warm chest. "Unfortunately, you will have to wait for the milk. That's something your mother is in charge off. I never made any promises".
That was the first time Gakushu had successfully beaten his father.
