Protagonists
Jaeger Name: Rebel Evolution
Pilots: Akira + Human!Morgana
Description: Slim black body with bright green accents and what are definitely not cat ears on top of its head. Viewport is wide and white to make it look like it’s wearing a mask.
Loadout:
1. Vortex Generator - Create and launch miniature black holes.
2. Mimic Protocol - Can scan an opponent’s moves in order to copy them, the adaptable nanites that make up part of its construction reorganizing themselves to accommodate for any extra body parts needed to pull off the new ability.
3. Repair Nanites - Passive regenerative effect. Can be manually cranked up to quickly recover from serious damage, but this is taxing on the main power supply.
4. Jet Turbines - Limited flight capabilities.
Jaeger Name: Silent Threat
Pilots: Ann + Shiho
Description: Slim dark red body with white accents and what are definitely cat ears on top of its head. Long segmented tail coming out of the back.
Loadout:
1. Napalm Flamethrowers - Sticks to targets as it burns.
2. Assistant Drones - Like Carmen and Celestine’s little servant boys. AI-operated humanoid machines. Kinda like Scrapper, they’re big but nowhere near as huge as a proper Jaeger.
3. Jump Boosters - Thrusters on legs increase jump height and kicking power.
4. Hand Cannons - Deploy large metal spheres to either slam into enemies directly or be shot straight up and spiked.
Jaeger Name: Modern Risk
Pilots: Ryuji + Mishima
Description: Beefy brown body with dark blue accents. Appears to have been jury-rigged out of the rusted-out remains of an abandoned tanker ship.
Loadout:
1. Grapeshot Scattergun - Giant double-barrel shotgun.
2. Mega Taser - Pretty much what it says on the tin.
3. Collapsible Shield - Spirals out from the arm like Thalia’s Aegis bracelet. Fully unfolded form looks like an open umbrella.
4. Crescent Knuckle Blades - Basically Moon Knight’s darts, but can only be used as punch enhancers, not projectiles.
Jaeger Name: Grand Mountain
Pilots: Yusuke + Hifumi
Description: Blue-gray body with bright red accents that resembles ornate samurai armor. Massive blade crest attached to its back, which can be used as a weapon in a pinch.
Loadout:
1. Liquid Nitrogen Traps - Large blue discs that automatically attach to surfaces when deployed using a series of wires. Snapping said wires activates the device, flash-freezing the surrounding area.
2. Foxfire Armor - Redirects the kinetic energy of an incoming attack to allow for a counter or parry.
3. Gold General Railgun - Used for sniping.
4. Dragon Storm Naginata - Can spin incredibly fast to penetrate armor and even generate fire whirls.
Jaeger Name: Grace Fist
Pilots: Makoto + Haru
Description: Bulky dark pink body with purple spikes on shoulders, knees, and fists. Can deploy wheels from the undersides of its feet to skate about at surprisingly high speeds.
Loadout:
1. Arm Pistons - Obvious Big O reference.
2. Nuclear Chest Beam - Unibeam with a slightly radioactive aftermath.
3. Motor Axe - Gigantic battle axe with thrusters attached to make each swing faster and harder.
4. Prototype Clairvoyant Missiles - Each rocket is guided by an AI that predicts an enemy’s movement patterns in order to fly toward not where they are, but where they will be.
Jaeger Name: Trouble Maze
Pilots: Futaba + Sophia
Description: Roundish green body crossed with patterns of darker green lines like a circuit board or labyrinth. Emoticon display screen installed in the viewport shows emotions.
Loadout:
1. Grappling Tendrils - Emerge from the arms and stomach to entangle opponents or manipulate objects.
2. Remote Bombs - Giant cartoonish round bombs that can detonate either automatically on contact or manually from a distance.
3. Sentry Turrets - Basically just Pithos, a bunch of flying rectangular prisms that fire lasers at targets. Float behind the Jaeger’s back when at rest, but can be sent out a fair distance away.
4. Prison Cubes - Huge metal boxes with hollow centers. Used to weigh down enemy limbs by prying them open before throwing them, snapping shut on contact.
Jaeger Name: Utter Panic
Pilots: Goro + Yoshizawa
Description: Light gray body with reddish-orange accents. Torso can rotate to swap between a generic, bog-standard build and one with a terrifying demon face painted on it.
Loadout:
1. Serrated Blade - Specializes in bleeding enemies dry. Can even saw pieces of armor off to get into the soft meat.
2. Kaiju DNA Implants - Like the drones in Uprising. Infusing their Jaeger with just a bit of Kaiju juice grants an increase in speed, strength, and ferocity while sacrificing defense and control. Overuse results in the mech growing what looks suspiciously like flesh and fangs.
3. Titanium Ribbon - Extendable whip/grappling tool.
4. Hard Light Duplicates - Create up to four copies that hit just as hard as the real thing, though they lack any special abilities and their internal projectors fall apart after taking just a few hits.
Jaeger Name: Lost Gem
Pilots: Maruki + Zenkichi
Description: Bright gold body with black accents. Very similar to Adam Kadmon in appearance, only with the skull face replaced with a more standard head model.
Loadout:
1. Blinding Light - Full-body strobe for leaving opponents vulnerable or opening up a chance to escape.
2. Hallucinogen Capsule Launcher - An arm-mounted grenade launcher, only its payloads cause enemies to trip balls instead of explode.
3. Blast Howl - Supersonic noise cannon installed in the head, causing it to open up like a mouth when in use.
4. Grip Claws - Retractable pair of extra arms on back. Both pairs have powerful clawed fingers on the ends.
Jaeger Name: Victorious Pawn
Pilots: Erina + Toshiro
Description: Two-headed mech, one being more masculine and the other more feminine, wearing an enormous scarlet cape as a flag. Knees are gigantic revolver chambers.
Loadout:
1. Grand Partisan - Entire quiver of massive spears on back for stabbing or throwing.
2. Brain Eater - Burst-fire wrist cannon whose shots inject an experimental chemical into the target that temporarily blocks out their short-term memory.
3. .45 Caliber Kick - The aforementioned revolver knees can fire absolutely gigantic bullets out of the bottoms of the mech’s feet. Each leg can only hold a maximum of 3 shots at a time due to the projectiles’ sheer size.
4. Diamond Mirror - Deploy fast-growing crystals that form gigantic walls, not only blocking foes but allowing energy attacks to refract and target a much wider area.
Plot Outline
Adult confidants (Sojiro, Iwai, Kawakami, etc.) are military personnel in charge of training the new pilots. The only reason Zenkichi, Maruki, and Toshiro are on the same level as the cadets is because they were demoted after daring to publicly disrespect Commanding Officer Shido.
True Forms of Palace Rulers, Jail Monarchs, and Legionnaire Leaders are adapted into Kaiju: Kamoshida’s has four arms, curved horns, and a really long tongue; Madarame’s has different sections of its face protected by huge square armor plates that resemble picture frames; Kaneshiro’s is equipped with natural artillery and is rotund enough to roll over buildings and enemies, etc.
Eventually, Shido’s mind is revealed to have been infected by Precursors this whole time, injecting himself with a custom cocktail of Kaiju DNA to mutate himself into a giant monster for what seems like the final battle…
…only for a trio of massive new monsters, Yaldabaoth, Emma, and Salmael, to start opening up a new breach practically right on top of their home base, leading to the REAL final battle.
