Please Save Me Tonight

Summary:

After hearing reports of omegas being enslaved in a foreign pack, alpha Taehyung readies his pack for a rescue mission. He wasn't sure on what he'd find, but certainly wasn't expecting to fall for an omega holding a pup to their chest.

Notes:

Prompt:

Taehyung is a ceo in the city and his family manages the pack back in the forest. One day, they decided to go another pack to rescue a few omegas from the slavery. They succeeded because of their power and money so they invited them to the pack. But one specific male omega with heavenly scent and pretty features, who was carrying a month old baby, attracted him the most.

Dw: taekook with a baby, angst, fluff, hurt and comfort
Dnw: mcd, heavy kinks, bad ending

kook has been through alot so we need his personality glowup. You can add a thick plot too but I just want to read taekook with babies.
(Or maybe somethings/many things happened and tae is actually the dad of the baby?)

Work Text:

The Seoul Kim Pack was known far and wide. A pack name that represents the peaceful power that everyone has come to know. Not just for the authority they held, but also for their revolutionary medical company.

Both pack and company were able to save countless betas and omegas from the cruel alpha-dominated society in which they were forced to live.

At the heart of such a pack was an alpha named Kim Taehyung. His name was famous, well-known and well-respected by packs globally.

Taehyung and his elder brother Namjoon – their second pack alpha – although alphas themselves, knew all too well about how damaging their privileged luxury could be. Together, with a promise for equality between all sub-genders, the two brothers swore to continue in their father’s footsteps when the pack was passed on to them.

With the help of Namjoon’s mate, an omega named Seokjin, and their best friends, an alpha named Yoongi and a beta named Hoseok, the pack began to make a difference in the world.

~~

Kim Taehyung sat in his office, filing through some reports. He’d heard about the increased cases of alpha domestic abuse, with reports coming in from across the country.

Albeit a grim truth, Taehyung knew that this was not just a sudden increase of cases, but rather, simply an increased number of omegas who were willing to come out with the truth.

The alpha continued to be impressed with such omega’s bravery – opening up about the truth of such a damaging hierarchy, showing their strengths as survivors.

He and his pack had sworn to help those omegas however they could. It was easier said than done, of course, having to take each specific case into account. However, it was something that they knew had to be done, and Taehyung would continue to do for as long as he was one of the pack alphas of the Seoul Kim Pack.

No matter when he received the calls for another case of omega abuse, he followed through as soon as he was able.

Taehyung reached over for his phone as soon as it began to ring. “Alpha Kim Taehyung speaking,” he introduced formally.

“Tae, we need you back at the pack lands,” Yoongi said hurriedly.

In response, the man quickly shot out of his seat as he made his way across the room, throwing his sweater over his shoulders. He knew that he wouldn't be requested back immediately unless there was a justified reason.

“Alright, hyung, I’m on my way-” he began, slightly anxious about what could demand his immediate attention. While his company was close to his heart, his pack, his family, came first and foremost.

“It’s Jimin, he told us where he’s from.”

If Taehyung was running before, he was full out sprinting down the hall now.

Park Jimin was an omega who arrived on their pack borders a few months back. The man’s state clearly told a story about horrific abuse—They were amazed that he was even able to make it to their sanctuary in such a state. He was immediately distrustful of any of the pack’s alphas, only relying on fellow omega’s care. That was until a certain alpha named Yoongi came into the scene.

It took months of very slow progress, but it was progress nonetheless. He’d gotten slightly more comfortable with some recognizable alphas in the back, yet was still skittish (and rightfully so).

Taehyung wanted to find Jimin’s home pack and deliver the justice that he’d been so deprived of.

Yet the omega showed clear discomfort whenever asked about the pack. Not wanting to pressure the poor omega, they all immediately agreed on letting him open up when he felt it was safe.

And today seemed to be the day.

“Hoseok!” Taehyung yelled as he barged into the CFO’s office. The beta blinked at him, wondering what the commotion was about. “Jimin. I’m gonna go, can yo-”

The beta quickly cut him off, “I’ll take care of everything while you’re gone. Go, go.”

He bowed his head in gratitude as he sprinted to the staircase, jumping down multiple stairs at a time in his hurry. “Is he alright? Do I need to get anything on my way back?” he practically yelled into his phone, worried about his new omega friend.

“He’s alright, a little anxious, but we’ll be okay. I’m trying not to question him too much, but he mentioned something about another omega,” Yoongi murmured, clearly trying to keep his voice low.

The pack alpha felt his heart wrench when a small, muffled whimper was heard, followed by sweet nothings whispered to him.

Taehyung grit his teeth, hating to hear a pack member in pain. “I’ll get there as fast as I can, hyung,” he promised as he raced towards his home.

~~

True to his word, the alpha raced across town. He knew that the omega had his alpha to help him, but he wanted to get there quick to do whatever he could as the pack alpha: for both Jimin and his former packmates who were suffering at cruel hands.

Arriving at the pack, he rushed over to their home, waiting anxiously as he knocked at the door.

Yoongi opened the door, poorly hidden anxiety etched into his face.

“Is Jimin okay?” Taehyung asked quickly.

The alpha nodded slowly, trying not to show just how stressed he was as he motioned for the pack alpha to follow him into his house.

“He’s in the living room. I was just making him some tea,” Yoongi explained, excusing himself to the kitchen to fetch his omega a cup.

Meanwhile, the pack alpha slowly made his way toward the couple’s living room. He hesitated, knocking on the doorway before entering.

“You can come in, alpha,” Jimin informed, anxiety clear in his tone.

Taehyung took slow steps in, not wanting to scare the omega in his own nest. “Hi, Jiminie,” he greeted softly. “How are you feeling?”

“Scared,” Jimin admitted softly, looking up at the pack alpha, eyes brimming with tears.

“You don’t have to say anything you don’t want to, Jiminie. We can take everything at your own pace. Yoongi and I are here to help you however we can,” Taehyung promised.

Yoongi came back with a fresh cup of tea, offering it to his omega as he nodded in agreement with his pack alpha.

Jimin bowed his head softly in thanks to his alpha, before mumbling out, “It’s okay. I can do it.”

Taehyung smiled, hiding his nerves. “Whatever you’re comfortable with, Jiminie.”

“My pack, my old pack, is back in Incheon,” the omega mumbled, voice light and anxious. “Didn’t have many omegas, there was just me, um, just me… and a few others, but that's it. Couldn’t escape or alphas would punish us – just got lucky.”

The omega gulped as he looked up into the pack alpha’s eyes. “Please, alpha, can you, could you try to get them out? Didn’t do anything, and one’s due for a pup, please alphas.”

Taehyung’s face paled at the omega’s words. Not only were they being tortured, which was horrible in and of itself, and Jimin’s state when he first arrived was enough to tell the horrendous tale, but also pups ?

“We’ll save them, Jiminie, you have my word,” the alpha promised.

~~

The pack alpha, with his warriors at the ready, had followed the omega’s directions toward his former pack. Each of them poised to avenge their packmate who has suffered at the hands of the alphas within these pack lands.

“First and foremost, our goal is to rescue the omegas. Following Jimin-ssi’s directions! Understood?” he yelled out towards the small group of warriors. Enough to carry through with the planned operation, but not enough to terrify an omega out of their skin.

“Yes, alpha!” they all chanted out.

Taehyung led the fray, being the first to storm into the building. Jimin had given him directions to where his fellow omegas were being held, and the alpha had sent out his warriors to such locations to save them from whatever tyranny they were facing here.

Before they had left, he had been given specific details about the whereabouts of an expecting omega – which is exactly where the pack alpha was headed.

The state of the building was rather pathetic: peeling paint, dirty walls, and chipped flooring. Whoever owned the place clearly didn’t care about it nor its inhabitants. Taehyung grit his teeth as he continued down the hall, only stopping when he reached a certain door.

The alpha hesitated, not sure if he, himself, was prepared to see what sat behind the door, but he knew that his anxiety would pale in comparison to that of whoever was waiting for him.

So with a deep breath, he opened the door...

..and froze when he saw what was there.

While he was anticipating an expecting omega, he was not anticipating an omega with a newborn pup cradled to their chest.

And not one that was as breathtaking as the figure before him.

The omega had a soft and – dare he say – cute, angelic face. Soft, black locks fall in front of his eyes, and there was just something about him that made him seem… small and soft and huggable. Maybe it was the pup in his arms, but maybe it was the absolutely heavenly scent that somewhat weakly wafted off of him. A soft, floral yet sweet scent that was absolutely divine.

Though the only thing that took away from the omega’s divinity was the look of absolute fear on his face.

Noticing the evident state of fear, the alpha took in the other hints that would lead to the same conclusion. The way the cute man curled in on himself, clutching onto his pup and shielding them from the intruder. And, perhaps, the most obvious of all, the shackle chained to his ankle, the keys tied to the wall just out of reach.

His vision practically went red from the pure rage he felt at the omega’s condition.

Taking a deep breath, knowing that any anger could just scare the poor boy even more, he slowly took a step forward to the omega.

“Hey, buddy,” he said evenly and calmly. “My name is Kim Taehyung, and I’m from the Seoul Kim Pack.” He introduced as he slowly lowered himself into a seating position a few feet away from the trembling omega. He just hoped that it was a comfortable distance.

Each step, word, and breath, was carefully tracked by the anxious omega sitting on the filthy floor.

“Can I get your name?” the alpha asked, moving his hands into his lap so as to not seem like he was itching to attack the poor man.

The omega kept his eyes locked on the alpha’s, gulping as he opened his mouth to answer the man, “‘M Jungkook, alpha,” he struggled to reply.

Taehyung watched as he seemed to bring his pup somehow even closer to his chest. “It’s nice to meet you, Jungkook.” He smiled, hoping that he was coming off as calm and not some power-hungry demanding alpha.

The omega – Jungkook – didn’t say anything else, simply watching the alpha to notice any possible threats. Eyes were locked onto the man’s hands. Hands that could easily permanently harm the omega and pup.

“Do you mind if I take that shackle off your ankle? I promise I won’t lay a finger on you,” the alpha asked hopefully, wanting to soothe his pain, even if it was slightly.

Jungkook’s breathing hitched at the statement. Knowing that he couldn’t deny an alpha any request, he hesitantly nodded.

Taehyung slowly stood up at his acceptance, taking careful steps towards the keys. Not too fast to make it seem like he was running at the omega, but not too slow to make it seem like he was dreading offering his assistance.

Carefully taking the keys off the hook, he turned towards the fragile-seeming man. “I’m going to take a step closer now. Is that okay?”

He’s learned – from Jimin’s recovery – that asking permission for even the smallest thing can help one to feel more in control.

Hiding his shock at the alpha asking for permission for something, Jungkook nodded. Though he thought the actions were peculiar, there wasn’t much that he could do against his discomfort when an alpha was waiting before him.

As the man took a step closer – careful and calculated – the pup in the omega’s arms started to wail loudly.

Jungkook quickly tried to soothe his pup, whispering soothing words as he kissed the pup’s head, starting to rock his arms slowly and cradle them.

Even as the omega tensed harshly at the approaching alpha, he kept it together in order to soothe his pup.

Taehyung felt guilt swirl around in his stomach seeing how the man and his pup reacted to his presence. Biting down the feeling, he kneeled down next to him. “I’m going to reach down and unlock it now. Is that okay?”

Jungkook took his eyes off his pup, hesitantly nodding as he watched the alpha get closer to him.

The alpha grabbed onto the shackle with a delicate hand, careful as to not brush against the omega’s leg. He didn’t fail to notice how the man flinched away from him.

He carefully undid the lock, removing the shackle from his ankle and tossing it across the room. It may have been a tad aggressive, but he wanted it far away so as to not cause any possible anxiety. With the first problem out of the way, the alpha scooted away just as the omega did the same.

Once Jungkook deemed himself a safe enough distance away from the alpha, he quickly went back to attending to his pup. The baby continued to cry all the while, only subsiding slightly when he was softly sung to.

Taehyung felt his heart absolutely shatter at the scene before him, completely enthralled by the omega and his pup. On top of how adorable he was, with a beautiful scent, he had an angelic voice too? His heart couldn’t take this.

He waited until the pup had fallen asleep in his arms, and frantic eyes shot up to reach his own.

“I’m sorry, I don’t mean to scare you,” Taehyung apologized.

Jungkook didn’t say anything – more surprised than anything that the alpha was apologizing.

“We try to save omegas from possible danger, and I was told that there were some here who needed us,” he explained. “An omega from this pack escaped and made it to my pack. Do you know someone named Park Jimin?”

At the name drop, Jungkook’s eyes widened as his jaw dropped in disbelief. “Jiminie’s alive?” he squeaked.

The alpha nodded, trying not to show any shock at the amazement of the statement. What kind of things happened here?

“He’s alive, I promise. He was in a rough state when he made it to my pack, but since then, he’s been recovering well. If you need proof, I have pictures of him with his alpha.”

The omega looked up, wide-eyed, before nodding.

Taehyung pulled out his phone, picked an image and placed the device on the ground. Not wanting to get close to the omega in fear of scaring him, he slid the phone over. “That’s his alpha next to him, his name is Yoongi.”

Jungkook, softly rubbing the pup’s back, anxiously cast a quick glance at the photo before looking back up with weary eyes. He knew Jimin well, and he knew that he wouldn’t be willing to become some random alpha’s property within months of his escape.

“If you’d come back with me to my pack, he’d like to see you again. You also don’t have to stay there, if there’s somewhere else you’d rather go, we’ll be happy to get you there. The pack, Jimin included, just wants to see you in a safe place,” he reassured.

“Safe?” the seemingly younger man echoed in response. Belonging to the first alpha that comes up to you and claims you?

Taehyung quickly nodded, realizing that ‘safe’ isn’t a good reason nor an explanation to tag along with a random alpha who just kicked down your door. “No one will lay a hand on you, nor your pup. You’ll have your own space that no one else will come near, at least until you get a place of your own. Until then, we’ll provide you with all your necessities.”

The omega shifted in place, discomfort evident as he sat on the cold, harsh ground. He was clearly tense, legs enlocked with one another, making himself smaller…all while gentle arms were wrapped around his pup, cradling them to his chest.

The alpha’s promise was wishful thinking, impossible for an omega like him. He understood why Jimin would have fallen for it, he wanted such a future, no matter how impossible it was.

“Okay.”

“Okay?”

“I’ll go with you. I’ll work for you, and do whatever you want, but please, please don’t do anything to my pup. She’s all I have, alpha. Please, I’ll do whatever you want. Just spare my pup,” Jungkook pleaded, blinking away sudden tears as he bowed his head to the alpha desperately.

Taehyung blinked a few times, trying to process the man’s words. “I promise that nothing will happen to your pup. She’ll be safe and cared for, just as you will.”

Jungkook nodded, being brave enough to wipe away his tears as he heard the alpha’s promise. Even if he didn’t trust the alpha, he didn’t have much of an option. Stay here and suffer alongside his pup, or trust a stranger for the possibility of a different life. Not a promise, as he was told, but a possibility. More of a possibility than he has here.

With that in mind, the omega anxiously rose to his feet, clutching the pup carefully to his chest. He kissed her head softly, keeping careful eyes on the alpha in front of him.

“Thank you, Jungkook-nim,” the alpha hummed softly when he saw the omega slowly rise. He was just glad that he was willing to leave the place on his own accord.

Though, at the words, the omega’s eyes widened. “Nim?” he echoed.

Taehyung smiled as he took a step towards the door, mirrored by the other man. “Because we’re equals, and you deserve respect from everyone. Alphas, betas, and omegas are all alike. The same will go for your pup whenever she presents.”

“Nari.”

The pack alpha paused, not expecting the omega to chip in as he did.

“My pup, alpha, her name is Nari.”

Taehyung started to slowly walk out of the room, towards the exit of the building as Jungkook shadowed behind him. “That’s a beautiful name for a beautiful pup,” he smiled.

“Thank you, alpha,” he mumbled back anxiously, noticeably pulling the pup closer to his chest, hand resting on hers. Nari slowly gripped her father’s finger, causing the omega to dare a smile.

The alpha tried to tell himself that the way his heart fluttered was normal. “No need to call me alpha, Jungkook-nim. Just Taehyung is good with me.” He grinned, trying to hide that little flutter in his chest.

The omega gulped nervously as he nodded, following closely as the alpha led him out of the prison.

It took until they were nearly outside for Jungkook to speak up, asking the burning question that curled uncomfortably in his stomach.

“Taehyung-ssi? In your pack, where will I stay? Let me stay with her, please alpha. That’s all I ask, please,” he begged, bowing his head to the alpha awkwardly as he stumbled to a halt.

If the alpha wanted him to, he’d get on his hands and knees to beg the man. He didn’t care about where he ended up or what he had to do there. Hell, he didn’t even care if it was safe for him . All he cared about was the well-being of his pup. That she wouldn’t have to endure the hell that her father had to. That, somehow, she could have a good life.

“Of course you can stay with her—You can stay wherever you want to. Be it with Jimin and his alpha, in the omega dorms, or even with me. It’s your decision; whatever you are comfortable with,” Taehyung hummed softly, voice light and, what he hoped, was calming.

Arriving at the car, the alpha opened up the door to the backseat to allow the omega and his pup to climb in. He figured that the back would be most comfortable – spacious, away from the alpha, probably a place that the omega would deem to be safer.

Jungkook looked at the man holding the door open, nervously bowing his head as he apprehensively climbed into the vehicle.

“We have a bit of a drive ahead of us, Jungkook-ssi. You can think about it on our way there? No pressure, you’re free to choose whatever you’d like,” Taehyung explained as he climbed into the front of the vehicle, giving a quick look through the mirror to make sure that the omega heard him.

“You, alpha,” he quickly muttered out.

“I’m sorry?” The alpha asked, making sure he heard correctly.

“You, please, sir,”  Jungkook asked with a bowed head. It made sense to him—stay with the alpha so he could be of more service, prove his worth and maybe the alpha would be merciful and wouldn’t see him as worthless. See that he has some worth, even if he was a burden. It’d be much easier to serve the man if he lived with him.

Plus, if he lived with the alpha himself, he’d never be away from his pup. He could keep her safer that way–and that was his only priority. He’d willingly suffer at the alpha’s hands if that meant the safety of his pup.

“You don’t want to move in with Jimin?” the alpha asked, clearly not expecting the man’s answer. Did he want to stay with some strange alpha rather than a known omega friend?

Of course, he wouldn’t outright deny the omega from one of his first decisions, especially such a critical one. And he’d be lying if he said he wasn't happy (if not worried) to be his first choice.

“Jimin has an alpha,” Jungkook explained as if it was an obvious statement. An old friend Jimin may be, but now that he’s with an alpha, it’s entirely different. At least to him.

Taehyung nodded. “True, he does, but that doesn’t mean you can’t live with him if you’d like. Yoongi knows Jimin well, and he wouldn’t mind, I promise. Of course, that’s up to you. If you’d rather stay with me, that’s perfect too.”

Jungkook shrunk in on himself as he tried to comprehend the alpha. Everything was just too confusing and everything he knew was just thrown out the window. He was the alpha-less omega with a pup, after all. He shouldn’t be the one to decide.

After the alpha had typed something out on his phone, he tossed it aside as he started the engine. “I’m having a room set up for you, it’ll be ready by the time we get there. You can still change your mind at any point, does that sound okay?”

“Yes, alpha,” Jungkook rushed out, knowing that the alpha was just being polite in his offerings. He clutched his pup close, praying that wherever they were headed was safer than where they came from.

~~~
When the car transitioned from the bustling streets of Seoul to the calm, rustling forest, Jungkook anxiously looked around the landscape. Jumbled rows of thick trees created a protective barrier around the home of the Seoul Kim Pack.
He gulped nervously knowing that he’s crossed the physical barrier of the pack’s territory: the point of no return.
“Alright, we’re here, Jungkook-ssi,” Taehyung hummed as the car rolled to a halt. “We can take a tour of the pack grounds tomorrow, but we can just focus on making you and Nari comfortable tonight. Would that be alright?”
The omega nodded anxiously as he looked at the land surrounding his new home. The house itself was somewhat smaller than he would have expected for the pack alpha’s residence to be. It was built out of a rich wood, which seemed to match the alpha’s cedar scent. It seemed… cozy and humble, a safe place away from the harsh cruelty of the outside world.
He quickly shook his head, trying to shake away the idea that just because the alpha smells comforting, it doesn’t mean that he’s much different.
As he stood looking at the house, Nari reached out her little arm as she clenched a fist. The pup looked up owlishly at her father.
Jungkook grinned down at her, wiggling his fingers in front of her.
The pup’s eyes widened, a little grin on her face as she gripped onto the omega’s finger. A heavenly, sweet scent rolled off the man in a brief moment of blissful security.
Taehyung felt like his heart was going to burst at the adorable sight before him. Trying to save himself from a possible heart attack, the alpha cleared his throat,  “I’ll start prepping your room. Take your time and make yourself comfortable.”
Jungkook nodded, deciding to selfishly take his time and focus on his and his pup’s comfort.
~~
He waited until the pup fell asleep in his arms, not wanting his anxiousness to affect her in the slightest. She seemed truly at peace, possibly for the first time he’s ever seen her be. He just hoped and prayed that she could have this serene safety for the rest of her life, even if it came at the cost of his own.
With a deep breath, he took a step into the house.
The cedar scent wasn’t overwhelming; closer to a warm blanket wrapping around him like a hug.
“Welcome, Jungkook-ssi,” Taehyung greeted, deep voice as warm as his scent seemed. “The guest room is just down the hall, but we’ll make it a room for you and Nari for the time being.”
Taking a step down the hall, the alpha looked over to see if the omega was going to follow him. Which, he attempted to do with haste, still careful not to jostle the slumbering pup.
“This will be your room if you’re okay with that. If you don’t like it, we can switch it up for you however you’d like,” the alpha explained, voice noticeably quieter when he was closer to the pup, as he slowly opened up the door.
Jungkook’s jaw dropped as he looked around his new room. It was made out of the same sturdy logs as the exterior, with a large window on the leftmost wall that overlooked a large body of water. In the middle of the room, pressed against the wall, sat a large king-sized bed. Next to it, on the other side away from the window, sat a small bassinet.
“I’m sorry that I don’t have much for Nari right now,” the alpha spoke up calmly. “I only have a few things on hand for any visiting pack pups, but I have more on the way, and then we can start to make the current dining room into a nursery. Not that you have to stay here permanently, we can move it all whenever we build your own house.”
The omega was silent, looking at his new room in shocked silence.
Taehyung gulped nervously, scared that the omega’s silence meant rejection. Even if he’s one of the pack alphas, he’s never been so directly responsible for an omega and his pup.
“We can change it if you don’t like it,” he panicked. “Whatever you’d like to change, just say, and we’ll get right on it.”
He felt his heart drop when he saw tears begin to form in the omega’s eyes.
“Is it too small? Is the scent too much? I’m sorry, Jungkook-ssi. How can I change it?”
Suppressing a chuckle at the alpha’s panicked antics, he looked up with tear-filled eyes.
“How can I pay you back, alpha?” he asked, overwhelmed by the alpha’s generosity. The alpha has been oh-so-kind to him, more than he deserved. He’d do whatever he had to for the safety of his pup, the only thing that mattered.
“I don’t need anything in return, Jungkook-ssi. I just want to see you well,” Taehyung replied quickly as if he didn’t have to think about it.
Jungkook slowly walked over, placing the sleeping pup into the bassinet. He smiled down at her, chest full of warmth finally seeing his pup safe and well. Seeing his pup able to have a warm bed and home for the first time.
“I have to pay you back, alpha. I have to,” he begged, eyes still glistening with tears. He couldn’t just… sit here and leech off the alpha, he had to do something.
The pack alpha sighed. “Please, Jungkook-ssi, all you have to do is to take care of yourself. You and your pup are still recovering, and that’s more important than anything,” he promised. He tried to keep his scent even, hoping that, even subconsciously, it will convince the omega that he’s being sincere. He’d understand why the omega would believe that he had some ulterior motive, but he just had to pray that he could prove his sincerity.
Panic coursed through the omega as he looked at the man before him. What else did the alpha want if not another omega slave? He wouldn’t have a purpose if it wasn’t in servitude? “Please, alpha Taehyung-nim, I need to,” he pleaded, tears streaming down his face.
Taehyung quickly lowered himself to look up at the omega – not wanting to seem like he was looming over him. He offered him a warm smile, carefully sending out a wave of his calm, even scent. “Okay, Jungkook-ssi, I can give you a job if that is what you’d like,” he assured.
Jungkook nodded frantically, wide eyes fixated on the man before him.
“I, pack alpha Kim Taehyung, appoint you, Jungkook, to have a job within my pack. Do you accept?” he asked formally, expression and scent remaining calm.
The omega quickly nodded, looking over at his pup to ensure that his scent of anxiety didn’t wake her. To his relief, she seemed to be sound asleep. He silently thanked his luck that it didn’t reach her.
“Alright then,” Taehyung continued, “for now, your job will be to care for yourself and your pup. All of your needs will be taken care of by the pack for your service.”
Jungkook froze, slowly blinking at him as he tried to comprehend what he said. His job, all he had to do to earn his keep was to care for his pup? Which couldn’t be true, the alpha would fill his plate for doing the one thing he swore he’d do above all else?
“But, alpha, that’s not,” he stumbled over his words, trying to come up with something that could explain the alpha’s behaviour.
“Caring for a pup is a full-time job, and you deserve to be compensated for it. Pack alpha’s orders,” he explained, flashing a boxy grin. “Now, if it's okay with you, Jimin and his alpha are on their way to help with your and Nari’s necessities and nursery.”
All Jungkook could do was nod, frozen in place as he tried to comprehend what just happened.
Dismissing himself to allow the omega to get comfortable, the alpha offered yet another comforting smile.
Jungkook blinked. What kind of alpha was Kim Taehyung?
~~~

When he was left to his own devices, he spent the time quietly looking around the room. He wanted to ensure that his pup could still get a good rest, but his curiosity still got the better of him. The room still had the soft, lingering scent of the alpha, starting to blend in with his own.

The large bed was soft and oh-so-comfortable that the omega practically melted into it. He knew he should be wary of the stranger’s act of kindness, but for some reason, he couldn’t get himself to be. Everything that he said and did was free of any malice. It was a freedom he selfishly lavished in.

He was broken out of his stupor when a knock sounded on his door. “Jungkook-ssi? Jimin-ah is here,” Taehyung murmured softly.

Jungkook shot out of bed at the mention of his old friend, rushing to the door. He threw it open, not expecting the alpha to be waiting for him.

The man simply offered him a warm grin. “They just got here, so he’ll be in the living room,” he explained.

The omega looked over his shoulder to look at his pup – hesitant to wake her up and disturb her peace.

“Or,” the alpha said, realizing the predicament, “I’ll ask him to come down to your room if you’d rather.”

Jungkook nodded quickly, relieved by the offer. He couldn’t fathom the alpha’s actions and the intent behind them, but he’d selfishly take whatever he could.

Nodding, Taehyung turned his heel and began down the hall.

The omega let out a breath of relief as he collapsed onto the bed. He closed his eyes in blissful silence as he took in the blanket of peace.

“Jungkook-ah?” a soft, angelic and recognizable voice hummed from the doorway.

He shot out of bed, eyes wide and tearing up as he saw the figure hesitate at the door.

“Jiminie,” he gasped, tears freely running down his face as he sprinted into the man’s arms.

The other omega wrapped his arms around him tightly, burying his head in his neck as he hugged him closer. He felt wet tears roll down his neck but he couldn’t care less, relieved beyond belief to be in the arms of his best friend again.

“I never thought I’d see you again,” Jungkook sobbed into his shirt. “I thought you didn’t make it.” He sniffled as he pulled back to look his friend in the eye.

Jimin smiled as he raised a hand, wiping away the younger’s tears. “I’m sorry it took so long, I just-”

“Don’t,” Jungkook cut him off as more tears started to freely flow again. “You saved us, hyung,” he wept, clutching onto his friend tighter.

The other omega chuckled wetly as he embraced him, nuzzling into his neck as he took a deep breath in. The scent that he’s missed for so long encasing him in a blanket of long-lost security.

“‘Us?’” Jimin questioned, tone playful and kind.

The younger man smiled through his tears, slowly untangling himself from the other’s arms. Though, he slowly reached down, slipping his hand into fellow omega’s. He tugged lightly, encouraging him to follow along.

Not that the elder needed any convincing.

Jungkook carefully walked over to his pup’s bassinet, smiling down at her as pure joy and pride swirled in his chest.

The little pup seemed to stir at the presence of another, slowly opening her eyes as she looked up to the two omegas. The pup moved her little arms in a small fuss, focusing her gaze on her father.

“Oh hello there, sweet little thing,” Jimin cooed down at the pup.

Jungkook smiled, a true, genuine smile looking at the two people that he cared for the most.

He was too hyperfocused on his friend’s interactions with his pup to notice the two alphas who had just arrived at the doorway. It was only when he heard a soft murmur that he whipped his head around. His eyes widened seeing the two men and quickly shuffled to stand between his pup and the duo.

When he felt a hand on his shoulder, he practically jumped out of his skin.

“Kook-ah, this is my alpha, Yoongi,” Jimin introduced.

The young omega gulped nervously as he took a step back toward his pup. Even if he was Jimin’s alpha, and the omega seemed to be physically fine, he was still an alpha and a threat to his pup.

“It’s nice to meet you, Jungkook-ssi,” Yoongi introduced with a smile, not crossing the room’s threshold.

“And you, alpha,” he practically whispered in response, bowing his head slightly to the man.

The omega awkwardly shifted from foot to foot, unsure what to do next when faced with the two alphas. Jimin’s hand on his shoulder helped to ground him, sure, but it didn’t entirely erase his anxiety.

He kept his eyes downcast, unsure of what to say or do.

Jimin, the angel that he is, was his saving grace.

“Hyung, did you already start on supper?” he questioned, looking over at his alpha.

Yoongi nodded. “Taehyung and I will finish cooking as you two get caught up?”

Jungkook looked over at Jimin with a wild expression – he was asking the alpha to cook supper? That should be their job, even if there was a pup to rear, that didn’t dismiss their other duties. He received direct pack alpha orders to care for his pup, but no order to dismiss the rest.

To his shock, Jimin just nodded softly, offering his thanks as the alphas left without any retaliation.

“Did you just– the alphas– ..cook?” he stumbled to get out, completely dumbfounded.

The elder one just giggled. “Yoongi-hyung likes to cook.”

Jungkook quietly retreated from his defensive position, sitting on the end of his bed and patting the spot next to him.

“So, you have an alpha now.”

Jimin hurried to sit next to him, quickly diving into telling his story ever since he escaped from the pack in Incheon.

Yoongi had come to fetch the two omegas and pup for supper, who helped to move the pup’s bassinet to the kitchen. Without having a baby monitor to ensure her security, Jungkook wanted to ensure that his pup was at his sides at all times.

Throughout the entire dinner, which was delicious, beyond what Jungkook thought an alpha could ever make, Nari stayed between Jimin and Jungkook. The two omega scents helped to soothe the small pup into a peaceful slumber, helping the meal feel much freer.

The alphas had stayed calm, their scents not once spiking in anger or showing any sign of agitation at all. It was all small talk – which was somewhat unnerving in and of itself – of Jimin explaining different things in the pack. The alphas chipped in every so often with their own small stories but gave the omegas a safe place to talk.

It was weird. Something he’s never seen before, but something that he secretly adored.

So relaxing, even, that he didn’t notice how long the couple had stayed for until the alpha had addressed it himself.

“I think we’ll be on our way now,” Yoongi excused, turning to get a conformational nod from his omega. “It was lovely to meet you, Jungkook-ssi.”

The alpha grasped Jimin’s hand on his own, as he smiled over at the young omega.

The elder omega seemed to tug on Yoongi’s shirt, looking up at him expectantly. “You don’t have to ask for permission, my love,” he whispered, kissing the omega’s head and he squeezed his hand tighter.

“Would you want to go on a tour of the pack tomorrow, Jungkookie?” Jimin asked, looking over to the younger man.

Jungkook blinked as if trying to contemplate the offer. He lived with the pack alpha for his servitude, so he would have to get his permission to be excused.

Before he could even turn fully to look at the alpha, Taehyung hummed softly, “You don’t need to ask me either, you’re your own person.”

Permission enough for the omega, he hesitantly nodded to his friend.

The smaller man grinned widely, helping to ease some of the tension woven tightly into his muscles.

“I’ll see you in the morning, Kook,” Jimin promised.

The younger smiled, scent sweetening as he thought of finally being reunited with his long-lost friend.

Wishing their goodbyes to one another, the couple excused themselves out the front door.

Leaving Taehyung and Jungkook in the kitchen alone.

The alpha simply began to collect the dishes, piling them up so he could make it on one trip. “If you’d like to go back to Nari, you’re welcome to,” he hummed. “You’ve had a hard day and deserve a long rest.”

Guilt swirled in his stomach as he bowed his head in agreement, not wanting to disobey him.

“Have a good sleep, Jungkook-ssi,” Taehyung smiled.

~~

Jungkook did not have a good sleep.

Or at least, that’s what Taehyung assumed when he was woken up to the sharp, heart-wrenching sobs of a wailing pup.

He practically fell out of his bed, fear shooting through him at the thought of something happening to the pup. It wasn’t his pup, per se, but the thought of an innocent pup being in distress made adrenaline shoot through his system.

But when he got closer to Jungkook’s room – where the sobs only intensified – something sour and rotten overlapped the omega’s natural heavenly scent. The putrid, gut-wrenching scent of anxiety, stress and fear.

The alpha hesitated outside the door, hesitant to make his presence known.

The continued wailing of an equally distressed pup drove him to knock a few quick raps on the door. “Jungkook-ssi, it’s Taehyung. Is everything alright?”

A frightened whimper could barely be heard over the pup’s crying.

The alpha waited anxiously for a reply before knocking again, anxious that something was happening to them. “Is it okay if I come in? I just want to ensure you’re alright.”

The cries got louder, as the omega’s scent simultaneously soured. He could hear panicking hushing from the man, desperately trying to get his pup to calm.

“I’m coming in, okay Jungkook-ssi?” the alpha informed, trying to keep any hint of nerves out of his tone. The last thing he wanted to do was frighten the omega and pup.

But it seemed that he did just that when he slowly cracked open the door.

His eyes landed on the omega carefully coddling his pup, trying to hush her as her loud sobs echoed off the walls. Jungkook was pushed into a corner, bawling pup cradled in his arms as he tried to soothe her however he knew how. Slowly rocking her side to side, mumbling as soft as he could.

Yet the omega himself seemed to be in a similar state of nerves. His anxious scent was heavy in the air with a tear-stained face, freezing as his eyes widened at the alpha’s arrival.

No longer receiving the attention she demanded from her father, the pup wailed impossibly louder, shaking her tiny little arms.

The omega’s scent spiked as he turned his attention back to the pup, mumbling soft comforts to her as he continued to rock the pup. “Sweetheart,” he begged, “please.”

Taehyung took a slow step closer, focusing on emitting an alpha’s calming pheromones. His scent slowly spread across the room, barely overpowering the bitter and sour scent of the omega’s fear and anxiety.

As if the pup could sense the alpha’s arrival, her cries quieted every so slightly. Still ear-piercing and heart-wrenching, but somewhat of an improvement.

It seemed to not only affect the pup but her father as well. Rolls of the scent filled with fear had slight aspects of his natural, heavenly floral scent.

“I have just the thing,” the alpha whispered softly, tone soft despite his deep voice. “I’ll be right back,” he promised, slowly standing up and stepping away from the pair.

The omega watched with nervous eyes as the alpha excused himself. He didn’t even have enough time to think too much about the alpha and the effects of his scent before he had returned.

Whatever the omega was expecting the alpha to return with – something to silence the two of them – it was not in the alpha’s hand.

Taehyung carefully walked over, sitting next to the omega on the floor, comforting pheromones still rolling off of him, and turned over his hand to offer the omega and pup a small pacifier.

Jungkook, frozen in shock, didn’t notice how the pup’s cries seemed to soften yet again at the alpha’s arrival. A shaky hand reached out to take the pacifier from the alpha before turning back to his daughter.

When offered the pacifier, Nari quickly accepted it, her focus on the gift replacing the sobs.

Jungkook almost started crying himself in pure relief that his pup was finally satiated.

“Thank you,” the omega hiccuped, choking back his tears.

Taehyung simply smiled warmly at him, relieved to see them in a state of peace. “Are you feeling alright?”

Debating the rather heavy question, the younger man looked down at his pup.

While sucking on the pacifier, Nari’s gaze fell onto her father’s face, shaking her arms and kicking her legs in glee.

Seeing her happy brought a smile to his face, chuckling wetly as he nodded. “Thank you, Taehyung,” he repeated.

The alpha froze, a smile creeping on his face as he realized what the omega had called him. “You’re welcome, Jungkookie.”

The two sat in comfortable silence, with the alpha’s pheromones helping to calm the omega’s racing heart.

For some reason that he couldn’t explain, the alpha seemed to bring him some odd sense of comfort. Something he’s never experienced from an alpha before, but it just felt so natural and right coming from Taehyung. Maybe he was a fool to trust him so soon, to trust a stranger that took him into his home, but it seemed second nature, just so natural and right

So used to an alpha’s scent correlating to negative experiences, Taehyung was just…different. Instead of the scent feeling like terror incarnated, it felt like having a cup of hot chocolate on a cool winter night. Like a hug or a warm blanket on a rainy afternoon.

His sense of comfort only grew when the alpha cooed at the pup, her eyes falling on the alpha as she kicked harder in furious joy.

She started to suck on the pacifier with great passion as the alpha hid behind his hands and started to play peek-a-boo with her.

Jungkook’s heart almost combusted with pure adoration for both his pup and newfound pack alpha.

“Can I ask you a question, Taehyung?” Jungkook asked, looking over to the man.

“Of course,” he hummed, sitting back a bit so as to face the omega better. “You can always like whatever you’d like.”

“Why did you have a pacifier?” he asked hesitantly, unsure of why he would have pup items at the ready in his home. There wasn’t any proof that the alpha had any pups of his own, so he couldn’t think of a logical reason.

The alpha, however, seemed embarrassed about it. A faint colour appeared on his cheeks as he scratched the back of his neck, looking down at the ground with a chuckle.

“Honestly, I’ve always wanted a pup. I only realized after I started buying things for a pup I’ve never had. I figured I’d keep all of it in case a pack member ever needed anything in an emergency.”

Jungkook smiled warmly at the explanation: the idea that Taehyung was safe the only thing cementing in his mind. “You’d be a good father,” he said softly.

Taehyung flashed him a boxy smile. “Just like you are, Jungkookie.”
