Chapter Text

Izuku sat on the couch, eyes wide and Ikea catalogue sat glaringly on his lap.

He supposed he should have suspected something to go wrong. After all, this was Ikea furniture. However, he was expecting to get mad and break a shelf when trying to put it up, or having to call up his bank to ensure it wasn't some scam he was falling victim to while paying for an obscenely expensive, glorified plank of wood.

The last thing he had considered, was that by simply reading the names of the furniture out loud, he would end up in this situation.

In front of him now was a man with red hair and sharpened teeth. He had appeared in an explosion of smoke that smelt too much like brimstone and sulfur for his liking.

This had, naturally, prompted Izuku to start screaming and throwing things at the apparent intruder. That was until the demon had turned around with wide, red, glowing eyes and smiled.

Honestly, Izuku had started praying in that moment, He'd thought his life had come to an unfortunate end. That he'd be plastered all over milk cartons with the word MISSING in bold above his head and his mother's contact information underneath.

It was unexpected. Completely. Why would he have expected it? It was a catalogue. He was just looking for a new coffee table after the last one had been.... unfortunately, lightly, nudged out of a window.

But this? Who expected the occult to attack you because you were trying to read the Swedish names that -regardless of the country that the particular branch was based in- Ikea was adamant to always use?

Izuku found that he hadn't expected it this time, but he probably would each and every other time he took to reading languages that weren't his native tongue.
