Work Text:
Today, their shift at Gear Station had proven to be a troublesome one. Although he and Kudari handled everything thrown at them with an expertise long cultivated, it had been one issue after another. If they didn't have to fill out detailed, multi-page documents for every incident that occurred, he would have lost count of them. Their lunch break had even been interrupted, but Kudari put his foot down after that. It was rare for Kudari to be the one to take the reigns on such a thing before he did, but perhaps his twin had already noticed the beginning signs of the headache that now throbbed behind his eyes. All issues and complaints, Kudari said, would go through him for the rest of the day.
He'd continued through their shift as normally as he could, but it had taken quite a bit out of him. There were several times where he retreated to the security room, unwilling to stop working, but needing to find a quieter space. His twin somehow always managed to realize when he was there, and brought him medicine and then drinks in an effort to ease the pain. Kudari was quieter during their walk home, watching him with a careful eye.
They shrugged off their coats at the door and hung up their hats as usual, and he briefly considered having something to eat. His head disagreed with a throb. When he excused himself to take a short rest, Kudari merely smiled with an 'Okay~' and then went to the kitchen, likely to prepare food for their pokémon. It was safe to assume Kudari also understood he would feel better with some rest, so his twin must have wanted to leave him to it. On his way to his room, he tugged his tie loose and slipped it from his neck. Stepping into the dark, he shut the door softly behind himself and flopped onto his bed face first, tie dropped next to his bed. After a moment, and a long exhale, he rolled over onto his back, and stared up at the ceiling.
His eyes took some time to adjust to the darkness of his room. He wasn't tired, per se, just hoping the dark and quiet would recede the pain enough for him to eat something. Still, he let his eyes close most of the way and evened out his breathing. His shirt would become quite rumpled from laying like this, likewise with his tie on the ground, but Kudari was a master at removing wrinkles from their uniforms. He would ask later for his younger brother's help. The decision helped turn his mind off from the immediate urge to neaten and tidy both himself and his room. His mind drifted in the dark, and he tried to steer it towards pleasant, soft things; things like Chandelure's glow, Gavantula's fluff, and Kudari's smile.
An unknown amount of time later, the door opened and then closed after a moment. No light came in from the hallway, so it was possible Kudari had turned the hallway light off before peeking in to check in on him. The pressure in his head had barely subsided, and he assumed that his lack of movement convinced his younger twin that he was asleep.
"Nii-san, you doing okay?" his twin's voice came from within the dark of his room.
He jumped, and moved to sit up, but a warm, firm hand to his shoulder stopped him before he got too far. And just as well, for the headache flared with a vengeance in his temples at the movement. "Kudari?" he asked, breathless from the surge of pain. His twin's hand pushed him insistently back to the bed, and then smoothed across his chest, resting over his lightly pounding heart.
"Sorry," he offered. He didn't remove his hand, and looked up to lock their gazes. Kudari's eyes caught the barest light in the dark room, lit like silvered moons.
"Kudari," he sighed out, the throb returning to a manageable level. "What are you doing, scaring me like that?" His twin's eyes shut briefly, and he knew the smile that alighted on his twin's face, despite barely being able to see it in the darkened room. The innocent, sweet smile Kudari always graced him with when he was doing his best to help. Kudari's hand slid from his chest up to his neck. It lingered there with a light touch, then continued to his forehead.
The back of Kudari's ungloved hand was cooler than he expected, and that was the only reason a shiver ran through him at the movement. Kudari's voice was a low murmur, soft, and certainly did not contribute to the shiver. "Had to check on you," he said. After a beat, he removed his hand. "You don't feel too hot. Gotta take off your shirt though. It'll wrinkle."
Honestly, he felt a little hot. But if Kudari said he wasn't, he would trust his word on it. "I am just experiencing a rather nasty headache. You need not concern yourself over it." The throb was nearing unbearable for how long it had been lingering, but he had to at least try to be strong in front of his younger brother. Kudari chuckled a little, and he watched him through half-lidded eyes. His twin was already finished unbuttoning his shirt, and he lifted his shoulders slightly to allow his younger twin to remove the garment.
"Tired? Stressed? I can help." Without leaving him time to argue, Kudari moved down the length of the bed. He didn't lift his head to follow what his brother was up to, but then he felt hands on both of his legs under the knees. The bed dipped around his feet, and Kudari returned to his field of vision, leaning over his lower legs. Kudari paused, those silvered eyes staring at him in a calculating manner usually reserved for when he was sizing up a challenger.
"Kudari?"
At his question, Kudari eyes finally blinked and he shook his head slightly before looking down. His voice was quiet, but as warm as the hands against his legs. "Shh. Just relax. And shut your eyes." Those hands slipped down to his ankles, and then moved slowly back up to his knees, exerting just the right amount of pressure in just the right spots. Somehow, his twin found all the sore spots, and massaged them away. Whispered approval slipped through his lips when Kudari rubbed his thumb just above his right ankle. He'd twisted it when they were playing by a stream as children, and it still gave a twinge every once in a while. Kudari must have noticed him favoring one leg, even if he himself hadn't.
When he was satisfied with his work, Kudari's hands slid upwards past his knees, and he moved the rest of his body upwards as well to straddle Nobori's shins. Here, his touch was much lighter as he caressed in wide, loose circles; fingers splayed but coming together as he moved from the outside in. The sensation was hard to describe, soothing but also making him restless. He hazarded a peek, opening one eye slightly, and was met with an unreadable expression on his twin's face. Kudari's eyes stayed locked with his until, after his tongue flicked out to wet his lower lip, Kudari murmured, voice pitched deeper than usual, "Shut your eyes, Nii-san." His eyes snapped shut, and he tilted his head back to face the ceiling head on. His face burned hot at those innocuous words coming out that way from his twin.
Kudari's hands exerted just a bit more pressure for one final circle of his upper thighs before moving up, ghosting almost completely past his hips. He found himself incredibly disappointed at how much space Kudari had gone past, and had to bite his lip to prevent himself from voicing that displeasure. That he was even displeased in the first place was worth quieting.
Accompanying the movement of his hands, Kudari continued to travel up his body, settling firmly just past his knees. Both hands smoothed up his stomach, achingly slowly, pushing his white undershirt up with it. The touch stopped after the shirt was high enough to reveal Nobori's pecs, and then lifted off his skin completely. Certainly, he must have been hot despite his twin's earlier words, because the air of the room chilled the skin where Kudari's hands had just been.
He could feel Kudari reposition himself once more, now kneeling in such a position that their hips were parallel. As he was about to open an eye again to investigate, he felt one of his hands being taken. Kudari tugged off his glove, which he had completely forgotten to remove earlier, and tossed it to the side. His twin pressed their hands together, palm to palm, simply looking for a moment. Then, he began to massage each knuckle, painstakingly going from the tip of each finger to his hand, moving on to the wrist when he was done. The care was extended up to his elbow, before he repeated the steps with the other arm.
Finished with Ingo's hands, Kudari smoothed his own up Ingo's chest much as he had done when he first startled him. This time, they didn't rest over his heart, moving instead to his shoulders. His twin's fingers expertly found every knot that presented itself from this angle. A puff of breath revealed that Kudari's face was closer than he had thought, and he held his breath in anticipation.
"Turn over."
"Eh?" His eyes opened automatically, Kudari's face bare inches above his. Kudari's pupils were larger than he'd ever seen them, and he thought that maybe his own mirrored his twin's.
"Turn over. So I can work out the knots in your back." His twin repeated, with a hastily added clarification. Kudari rose, spreading his knees slightly to accommodate Ingo to flip, helping when Ingo tugged his undershirt off as well. It had definitely become too warm to keep it on, and Kudari wouldn't be able to work on the knots through the fabric. It was logical, sensible even, to remove obstacles from Kudari's efforts.
Once he settled comfortably on his stomach, he rested his cheek on his crossed arms. Although Kudari was still above him, there was a moment where there was no contact between them and the quiet of the room held only their entwined breathing. And then, Kudari put his full weight down in the same spot he'd been hovering over before. He suppressed the gasp from the contact as best he could, face red. In his imagination, he thought maybe Kudari had let out a gasp himself.
As he tried to determine if the action had been deliberate, his twin leaned over him again, setting to work on his back as promised. He wasn't particularly surprised that Kudari was good at this; his twin had given him many shoulder rubs when they were stuck at their desks too long. The air was never as charged then as it was right now, though, and a moan broke out from his mouth when Kudari's attentions moved to the small of his back. Kudari chuckled warmly at that, breath fast between his shoulder blades, and he pressed there again. Prepared, he managed to stifle the sound the second time.
"Did that feel good? Nii-san." Kudari's voice was silk to his ear, and his fingers were now exerting delicious pressure between his shoulder blades, as if they travelled with his voice. He swallowed hard, giving a nod, unsure if he could trust himself to speak. "Good." The pride in Kudari's voice was like honey, melting the rest of the stress he'd been keeping in his muscles. In fact, there had been no pain accompanying his nod.
The sudden awareness of relief cut through any awkwardness he had been feeling, and the urge to let his precious twin know that his efforts had been exemplary swelled in his heart. "It feels wonderful, Kudari! In fact, I believe my headache is gone! Bravo!" A surprised laugh, laced with something that sounded suspiciously like disappointment, came from above him. Kudari's body heat suddenly felt distant as he straightened up.
"Of course. Told you I would help you." This time, the disappointment was almost palpable, and it had a sting of rejection. His twin's hands left him, but Kudari made no other attempt to move. With a glance over his shoulder, even in the dark, he could see a darkening of his twin's cheeks. A realization struck, and he attempted to search Kudari's face for confirmation. Kudari began to fidget under his gaze in the silence, and it only made Ingo's choice easier.
"....Kudari, do you think I should roll back over?"
"N-Nii-san?" The apparent blush on Kudari's cheeks spread to the rest of his face. All of the bravado he'd had melted into a nervous, but absolutely adorable young man. His sweet twin brother. The person who occupied his heart their whole lives.
"I think perhaps you have some spots that you missed on the first pass." Moonlight eyes widened to full moons, and Kudari dove in, pushing him fully onto his back. Kudari looked like he wanted something desperately, on his hands and knees over him, face red. Ingo was fairly certain he knew exactly what it was, but he needed to be sure. Were they still on the same wavelength? This was his precious younger brother, after all, and if they crossed the line, would they be able to return? Would they even want to?
"Nii-san, Nobori, I ..." Kudari started, trailing off.
When it was obvious Kudari wouldn't continue, Nobori continued for him. "Do you want to kiss me?"
Kudari's eyes flicked to his mouth and he spoke without hesitation. "More than anything!"
"Then why have you not?" Kudari's eyes narrowed in indignation before he dipped down, capturing Nobori's lips before he could ask any more questions.
