Survival was your motto, an unfortunate necessity that came with falling into the Underground in a place with little clean food or water. After the kind-hearted Doctor of the Wild East takes interest in your ability to repair things, however, your life takes a turn for the strange and you find yourself caught up in a game very different from your time in the dumps of Waterfall.
Monster. Mechanic. Friend to the Wild East's own eccentric sheriff, one North Star, and his co-conspirator to boot. What's a poor human to do? Lie like crazy and hope things don't unravel any further than they already have.

Summary
Waking up with no memories in the home, clothes, and body of a stranger is terrifying. If your lingering impressions are anything to go by, you're not in the right time period anymore, let alone in the right world.
So why, then, does everything about your new life put you at ease? People included, despite their best efforts, and oh how they try to piss you off.
Maybe there's something to the old adage; kill them with kindness, or die trying.

Or, everyone wakes up after the end, including the inanimate objects. This is a good thing (probably).

Rocky’s impatient, translated sigh was loud. His echolocation could tell where I was and how long it was taking my part of the installation. He was also moving all over the place, which wasn’t unusual, but at the moment, it felt like too much.
My lips thinned and I yanked my arm harder than was necessary. “Ow. Yes, okay! I’m getting there, just…oh, no-“
Seriously? I looked away for two seconds and somehow, my traitorous wrist had actually begun rotating it back the other way.
“I was almost…oh c’mon! No, Rocky- do not ask, just -just hold your darn horses!”
