Fingon thinks that fighting Void monsters from the deck of Vingilot is a 'fun little warm up for Dagor Dagorath.' Maedhros wishes that Elrond would give him a straight answer to what he thinks is a very reasonable question. Thranduil feels that helping him come up with a better way for elves to practice fighting dragons is 'the very least that Maedhros could do, after he was responsible for killing everyone's grandparents.' These three things are not unrelated.
Chapter Summary: In the months following Maedhros’ re-embodiment, Elwing and Maedhros fall backwards into friendship. It happens gradually, one difficult conversation at a time.
