Seto and Joey have been together for a few years; post the Ceremonial Duel and graduating, they circled each other before becoming partners and sharing a life. When a planned dinner gets interrupted by call after call from KaibaCorp, Joey and Seto get into an argument. Joey wants Seto to stop being a CEO and be a better partner. Seto says for Joey to be in his shoes for once to see how difficult that is.
The next day, Seto gets into an accident and wakes up back in bed. But the Domino and the life he knew has been changed. There's no partnership between Seto and Joey.
Joey Wheeler now goes by Joseph Wheeler, CEO of Lucky Red Eyes Corporation.

Kenichi Satou de pronto se encontró viviendo el cliché: morir, reencarnar y conocer a personajes de una de sus series (y pasatiempos) favoritos. Empujado por una amistad con Judai Yuki, el protagonista de Yu-Gi-Oh GX, se ve arrastrado a todas las cosas mágicas y aterradoras de ese mundo: juegos de lo oscuro, apuestas de almas, dimensiones alternas y entes semi-divinos que buscan decidir el destino de ese universo (y tal vez otros) con un juego de cartas para niños. En resumen, provocar el fin del mundo… Cosa que, al parecer, sucedió en el futuro, y de alguna manera ahora él tiene que ayudar a que eso no pase de nuevo.
¿Pudo ser peor? Sí, podría haber sido un limo de JRPG Gary Stu. Aunque, con los conocimientos de la futura evolución del duelo, a un juego lleno de cartas rotas, con turnos "infinitos" y mucho texto, en cierta manera ya es uno.
Si tan solo eso no hubiera pintado un enorme blanco en su espalda, porque (¡Oh, sorpresa!) cuando tienes esos conocimientos, los más poderosos querrán obtenerlos también. Por suerte llegó hasta la era Link, y no se quedó en Arc-V como sus amigos, ya que necesitará cada carta para sobrevivir.
