Work Text:
Evening. Masquerade ball. Calm music is playing, and couples are circling in the middle of the hall, dancing a slow dance. Someone gathered with their friends, someone with their lover, and someone by chance. The King of Atlantis is watching everyone, but her eyes always land on his daughter, who is dancing in the very middle of the hall with an unknown person.
She is dancing either with a girl or with a guy, it is not clear, but the king knows that this person is not from these lands. Gura, his daughter, moves beautifully, he understands that she is trying for him to make his father proud of his daughter. Her partner, apparently, is also not bad. His movements are graceful, slow and assertive, as if this dance is his last. Although the king thinks that this person is very strange, he does not stop the dance, but waits until it ends.
...
She dances with a stranger whom she sees for the first time. At least she knows it's a girl, though it's hard to see behind the jacket, men's trousers and mask. Her head rests on the strong shoulder of a stranger, listening to the rhythm of the dance. She is amazed at her synchronicity and professionalism in technique, which she sees for the first time. Gura wonders if she should continue to be silent and just continue dancing. She vomits a sweet and deep voice above her ear.
"You look thoughtful, Your Majesty." She whispers through her mask, tightening her grip on Gura's waist. "I apologize if I interrupted you."
"No, no, please don't be sorry, just thinking about this evening." Gura replied, responding to the girth at her waist with a pat on the shoulder.
"I'd like to read your thoughts about this evening." Again, that enigmatic low tone of her voice, her lips pressed against her reddened ear, sending a herd of goosebumps down on her back "I'm sure these thoughts are connected to me and your imagination, am I right?"
"Your audacity surprises me." Gura smiles, running her finger along the blond's cheek. But it stops on the lips when a stranger wants to answer something. "I'd like to take that mask off your face and find out who the sass is under it."
The blonde smirks, at least that's how Gura might feel. She pulls her sharply towards her, so that their noses are touching and their lips are only a few inches apart. Gura feels her fiddling with the chain that holds up the dress and says.
"If you take off this dress and it falls to the floor, revealing you to me in all your glory, I might think."
Gura looks into the blue eyes of her partner, in which the flirtatiousness of her proposal is expressed directly to the entire volume. She rolls her eyes, pressing lightly but hard on the blonde's shoulder, causing her to gasp, grabbing her hand.
"Who else expresses their insolence, princess?" The stranger whispers, and Gura begins to feel her breath on her neck when she bows her head. "I would flirt with you further, but should we continue our dance?"
She is right. With these playful looks and words, Gura completely forgot that now they are in the middle of the hall. Everyone stopped dancing and just looked at the couple, who began to move again. They were not worthy to dance next to this majesty, as if God himself had given them, only their blessing.
The blonde dominates this dance. She leads the Gura along the hall, feeling intrigued looks, full of delight and removal. They do not open their eyes from each other, looking for something worthwhile in them. For them, the nobles and officials around them are unreal, as if there is no one around them, they are only one, alone in this world. Gura thinks it's like a dance at the end of the world. As if if this dance ends, then this world will collapse, forgetting them. She looks into the eyes opposite, which just say "give yourself to me and I will surprise you." Blue eyes, as if Gura is looking at a clear sky without stars or clouds. They seem to enchant her, hypnotize, forcing her to forget, to drown in them.
"Did you know that today you are indescribably beautiful?" She is again pulled out of her thoughts by this voice, which she has already remembered for her whole life. "And your dress. I think that among all the girls on this ball, you are the most beautiful."
"But you would be so much more wonderful without him." The blonde continued, again leaning into Gura's face, but already leaving a very small distance between them, one more dash , and they can join the kiss. "How about secluded in one of the rooms of this castle, Your Majesty?"
She's playing with her, Gura thinks. But how can she approach words so smoothly, and also retreat from them so smoothly, as if at that moment she was silent. She wants to know more about this stranger, but she tried before, receiving only a translation of the topic or a denial in response. Gura wants to take off this mask, which is already starting to annoy her specifically.
"I'll consider if you take off your mask, dear." Gura answers, flapping her eyelashes.
She hears a self-satisfied chuckle in response, and the blonde leans in for a quick kiss. Although the kiss was quick, Gura still felt the taste of the stranger's lips. Blue Eyes narrows her eyes as their dance stops for a second before starting again, following the beat of the song.
"I'm afraid you'll fall in love with my pretty face if I do this." She purred into the ear of the shark, whose tail twitched at the timbre in her voice. "Or you might faint. But I don't want the king to send guards after me and they take me away from you."
"Your goal is clear to me, and I know what to do. But first..." Gura lowers the blonde's head to kiss her through the mask, and then pulls away, right at the moment when the song ends and everyone leaves for the buffet. "We need to find a quiet place."
Gura moves away from the stranger, takes her by the hand and leads her away from the main hall. The king's gaze followed him, but he did not follow his daughter, but only continued to watch the people.
It was difficult to find a free team among these corridors. There were guests of honor who were supposed to have a separate bedroom, which means that now they were more than half occupied. Finally, she finds a free team, untouched by anyone, and enters it, dragging the blonde behind her.
She throws her on the bed, and when she sits down, sits on her lap. The blonde tilts her head to the right, looking through the slits in her mask at the princess, who is fidgeting on her lap, placing her small hands on her shoulders.
"Princess, I did not know that you can drag a stranger into some room, and moreover in this way." Playfully says blue-eyed, sending a melodic chuckle into the air. "Maybe you can kiss me too, how about that?"
"If you don't take off your fucking mask," Gura hisses, squeezing the blonde's shoulders and growling through her sharp teeth. "I will take it down by force. Understood?"
"How impatient you are, Your Majesty." The blonde purrs, stopping her hand from stroking Gura's thigh and reaching out to touch the mask. She does not move, Gura feels that she is grinning all over her face and her nerves boil. "Better not fall in love when I take it off."
"Take it off already!" Gura almost screams, slapping the girl on the legs with her tail.
"As the princess wishes."
She is finally getting started. Gura, without closing her reyes, watches the continuation of the actions of this mystious blonde, and a desire arises in her head to speed up the process. As if by fate, knock on their room, and Gura instantly gets up from blonde lap, straightening the hem of her dress. She stops and the mask falls over her face again before straightening up.
"Come in!" Gura speaks to the man behind the door and it immediately opens, and one of the butlers appears in the aisle.
"Your Majesty, your father wants to see you at the ceremony." The butler said, still standing outside the door.
"Wait a minute, I need to say something to my friend." Gura answers, getting the butler's grunt in response. "What?"
"But it's just you and some note with some thing on the dressing table." Says the butler, nodding at the table, on which the thing with the note actually lay. "Your father will be waiting for you in the main hall, goodbye."
He leaves leaving Gura alone with an empty room. She walks over to the table, picking up a piece of paper. She unfolds it and a neat handwriting in new ink immediately catches your eye.
Princess, unfortunately, I had to leave, because revealing my face to someone, I would be defeated. The open window was to the point. On the table is my mask, which you wanted to remove from me. Are you satisfied now?
Gura glances at the mask and picks it up before going back to reading the note.
As much as I wanted to enjoy you more than I can imagine, I had to leave. But you don't miss me, because I'm sure we'll meet again. Tomorrow there will be a speech of the king in the city square, come there and find me among the inhabitants. I'll give you a clue: I'll be wearing a mask, again. But do not look for me in the middle of the square, I will be on high. This was another clue.
See you, Princess.
-Amelia.
"So her name is Amelia." Gura's voice echoes through the empty room. She draws the mask to her face. She smells like a blonde, a pleasant smell of either daisies or lemons.
Her voice echoes throughout the castle as she speaks...
"See you, mysterious stranger."
