Prove it, Punk

Summary:

Fanfiction Library Daily Drabble prompt:

"You think you're a better cuddler then me? Come over here and prove it punk!"

The first thing I thought of with this prompt was my favourite dysfunctional, useless lesbian couple. So here's a One-Shot cute fic with my two babies. Enjoy!

Work Text:

"You are NOT scary!" Eve's voice boomed through the apartment. She had already found herself folding herself over with laughter at the previous statement her "terrifying" girlfriend had made.

She sat further forward, attempting to stiffle her laughter as she watched her partner attempt to make an extremely precise, perfect cup of coffee in their open plan kitchen. She saw the fairer haired woman look back at her with a sort of dumbfounded expression. Even if she had been terrifying on a normal day, stood in the kitchen in a fancy robe, nursing a cup of coffee was not particularly intimidating.

"I AM scary!" She retorted, placing the coffee aside, gesturing to herself in a "look at me" fashion.

"Oksana, the scariest thing about you is the God-awful 60's wallpaper print on your robe." Once again Eve found her self in a fit of laughter.

"Hey! That was just rude". Oksana raised her finger at the older woman, sprawled along the couch as if the world was a universe away from being her problem. Her tone was more serious now, though it still carried a childish smile. "I'll have you know I've killed a person before... multiple people, actually." The statement was as obvious as stating the colour of the sky. Her murderous ways had been the entire reason they were where they are today. Under the same roof, sharing witty banter.

"Yes, I know." Came Eve's voice with a exasperated sigh. "Still, that isn't something that I would find scary."

"Then what is!?" Oksana blurted, tossing the spoon she had been stirring her coffee with into the sink.

"I don't know." Eve thought for a minute, the laughter completely haulted, now replaced with concentration. Knowing Eve as well as she did these days, Oksana opened the fridge to place the milk back into its designated spot on the door shelf. "Maybe genocide." The statement itself would have seemed out if place coming from most people. Eve though, had always been drawn to the macabre. Her sensitivities would only make themselves known in extreme situations. This was one of the many things that made her a gifted agent. That was, before she fell in love with an assassin she was hired to arrest.

Oksana stooped in her movements for a moment, before turning back to face the older woman.

"I could do that." Eves laughter piped up again.

"Don't be ridiculous, Villanelle. Even I know, you have and will only ever kill with good and fair reasoning." Oksana picked up her coffee, making her way over to her girlfriend. Even she had cracked a smile at the previous statement. "Not everything needs to be a competition, you know?"

"I know, but wheres the fun in that? Nothing wrong with a good competition. For example: I'm the best cook."

"Hey! No you aren't!" The younger woman placed her coffee down before sitting opposite Eve in one of their many, strangely assorted chairs. Neither of them had a complementary taste in upholstery, thus they often bought whatever they both liked.

"Your cottage please doesn't count. That is just ONE meal you have perfected." Eve grunted in disapproval.

"What about singing?" Eve asked, as if she was now just picking things out of the air to compare.

"Oh please, karaoke nights with you are a nightmare." The fair haired woman's Russian accent emphasised on the "nightmare".

"Now you're just trying to be cruel." Eve's face seemed to sink for a minute. Oksana leaned back in the chair and watched her girlfriend brain work to find something. Just as she assumed Eve had run out of ideas, she watched her face light up. Beaming a grin from ear to ear.

Wha-?"

"CUDDLES! I give better hugs and cuddles!" Eve almost shouted, waving her arms slightly in excitement. She was confident she had stumped her girlfriend this time. Oksana gasped openly, seemingly offended before bursting out into laughter.

"I can't believe you'd say such a thing! I know for a fact I give the best cuddles." Eve almost giggled childishly at her reply. "There is no way in hell, you win that one. I've always given the best hugs and cuddles. I'm like a... cuddle... God!" Oksana lost her confidence in trying to find a good statement to make, justifying her opinion.

"Nope. No way."

"Oh, really?"

"Yes, really. You think you're a better cuddler then me? Come over here and prove it punk!"

"Right! That's it!" Oksana almost jumped from her seat, closing the gap between her and her partner in seconds. The joking intimidation in her voice causing Eve to spiral into fits of laughter yet again, the two of them chuckling openly. Oksana flopped her entire bodyweight over Eve before shuffling herself to get more comfortable. She shuffled overdramatically, causing Eve's body to wobble from side to side as various limbs seemed to push her about. The motions hadn't stopped their laughter, but eventually they both settled on the couch. Laughter turned to light panting amd gentle sighs of comfort.

"Well, you have a point" Eve said, nestling her head closer into the shoulder of her scary partner. "This is a good cuddle." Oksana sighed with an open smile.

"I suppose this cuddle would be terrible without you cuddling me back though." Eve hummed slightly.

"Then we are even."

"We are even". They remained tangled in each other for a good while. Sinking into each others comfort. They had almost found themselves drifting into sleep before...

"Oh shit! Your coffee."

Notes:

This was actually one of my first prompted pieces. I had a lot of fun doing it. I've been wanting to write something with this pairing for such a long time, but this prompt felt perfect for it.

I hope you enjoyed reading it as much as I enjoyed making it.

(I have a whole Killing Eve fic idea ready. It'll be drafted properly after my Apex fic is complete so look out for that.)
