"Come," Loki says with a hand gesture.
Thor follows him through the corridor, trying to keep his footsteps the most silent possible.
They have just gotten out of the banquet, where they took advantage of the growing drunkenness of its hosts and guests to sneak out. Some guards and servants may have actually seen them, but they had said nothing. The boys attributed their success to their discretion though.
When they are at least in the gardens a moment after, Loki takes a deep breath. The night's soft breeze is refreshing compared to the high scents of mead and roasted mead of the banquet.
He smiles, and indicates for Thor to follow him, then he sits on the grass in the middle of flower paths. His brother imitates him, and sits by his side, then when Loki lays on the cold grass, he does the same again.
"The sky is beautiful tonight, as always," Loki says, with excitement in his voice that makes Thor's heart flutter.
During all of the celebration, he had not been able to turn his gaze away from his little brother.
He was only so gorgeous, so perfect in his eyes.
Thor does not remember for how long he had been in love with him. Nor for how long he has been hiding it.
But he knows how much it's making his heart ache.
"You wanted to know where Xandar was situated, right?"
His tone is simple, yet his voice is so sweet, and it makes Thor's cheeks so red he hopes it does not show in the night.
"Yes. You didn't stop asking questions to Queen Adora about her Empire and its capital during the feast. You may know a lot now."
In fact he does care little where this Empire's capital planet is, and only wanted to spent time with Loki alone. To hear his voice, being addressed to him and no one else.
He also wants to hear Loki talk about the knowledge he has and is acquiring, because it is both captivating and admirating.
Thor wonders if he is being egoistical or only too much in love.
"I don't think so," Loki smiles, and Thor can't resist. "But I know more now, that's true. See, the Nova Empire is situated around those two bright stars here," he shows him. "And Xandar is one of their biggest planets, and might be around this one star."
Without noticing it, Thor brings his head closer to his, to the point that their temples almost touch. "Is it far?"
"I don't think so. Queen Adora said they took only three days to come. I guess it might change from time to time, depending on the cosmic variations, the spaceship's capacity, or the obstacles one could encounter..."
"You are so clever," Thor breaths.
"Compared to you, sure..." he mocks him.
Thor turns to him ; he's a bit hurt, but he knows - thinks - that Loki means to harm with his words, so he smiles anyway.
"That's not very nice."
"Being nice is boring."
Although he could contemplate Loki for long, he turns back his gaze to the bright starry sky. "So will we visit Xandar in turn one day?"
Loki shrugs. "Probably, when we'll be older. I guess the Queen will be very happy to host us."
"I'll be very happy to go visit it with you."
Loki smiles again, and turns to him. His eyes are as glowing as the sky. "Me too."
They both turned back to stargazing, in a moment of silence.
Thor hesitates. He sees his hand near his own, and he wants to take it, but he doesn't know if it's right. How would Loki react? But then he does it nonetheless, because he's feeling more peace and bliss than shame and worry.
His heart jumps again when his brother says nothing but accepts it willingly.
Loki's hand is cold - Thor guesses it is the fresh night - in contrast to his own. He can sense it warm up as their fingers are now entwined.
"Loki..." he breaths.
His hand only is not enough now. He wants to take him against him, feeling him the closest possible.
Without another word, and still unable to resist him, he uses his free arm to bring his brother against him. He hears him whisper his name and his heart melts as he embraces him tightly, warming him up.
He wonders why Loki is letting him do so. Could he felt the same as him? Or does he think this gesture is nothing but a mere brotherly affection?
It has been so long since Thor had wished more than that.
They stay like this during long minutes, and Thor can feel his heart fasten - or is it Loki's one?
He anyways feels his own stop when Loki straighten up a bit, and asks with a sincere voice, "Can I kiss you?"
Thor blinks, and doesn't know what to say, so he nods, and Loki does so. His sweet and thin lips presses against his, and Thor responds immediately. The kiss is sloppy and clumsy, but it is the best feeling ever. As he tries to deepen it, his free hand come to lay on his side, while Loki goes to caress his hair.
His thoughts are a mess ; he wonders if Loki was feeling the same all along, of if he only plans to mock him.
When they part, retrieving their breath, they lock their eyes and they understand each other without speaking. But they still do so.
"Loki, why... did you do that?" He asks, as if he wasn't the first one to take his hand and press their bodies together.
"I did it because I love you. Don't you? Or am I mistaken?"
"You're not," Thor breaths, and he still can't believe this is true.
"I knew it. You were way too obvious. I saw how much you gaze-devoured me all night. And then this..."
"Did it bother you?"
"Of course not."
Thor smiles and takes him back into his arms.
"I love you too. And I want to travel everywhere you wish by your side. In the Nova Empire, and below."
Loki kisses him again.
He was feeling the same all along.
Now he is way too happy.
