Sora already knew that she would find Yamato sitting atop the wall facing the beach. Since the Digimon bonds had broken, she followed him here and sat beside him, watching the waves crash along the shoreline. She always embraced him first to comfort his sadness, but today Yamato pulled her close to let her rest in his arms, to remind her that consoling her was just as important, if not more, than consoling everyone else.
She sat with Yamato in silence, listening to the sound of the water roar and calm from the wind’s torment. The sun glowed a bright orange as it lowered into the horizon, as though it was saying goodbye before it vanished into the night.
But the sun would rise again the next morning, and it would never lose its shine. Sora had told Yamato this once, that their Digimon were like the setting sun; they were gone but their bonds would forever shine with them. Perhaps that was why she and Yamato found comfort in watching sunsets together. It reminded them of their Digimon, and it gave them enough motivation to carry on.
