Summary
Jack clocks out, grabs his stuff, takes a cig and a lighter out of his pocket, and leans against the wall of the restaurant, looking out into the street. Occasionally, someone will pass by, but usually, nobody really catches his interest. That’s what’s different about tonight. Jack is minding his business when he sees a gorgeous girl across the street.
She’s obviously trashed, her hair wild and something spilled down the front of her short blue dress. She’s got on heels- Jack wonders how she’s walking in them, they’re at least five inches tall. She’s stumbling slightly. Jack finds himself worried about her, even though she’s a stranger. Not only is she obviously drunk, but she’s a young woman walking alone, while it’s still dark out. Clearly she has no preservation skills.
