Vanitas knows that he’s hurt Noe by suggesting that he go out and spend the rest of the night with Domi when he is the one who has pulled Vanitas out of a nightmare time and time again, regardless of where and when. He’s insulted how much Noe cares about him by implying that he chooses the numbness that comes with drugs over the comfort of their friendship; because they both know that Noe would stay with Vanitas the entire night and some more, forgoing the comfort of his own bed to sit on the uncomfortable high-backed chair by the coffee table. Vanitas knows that he should be grateful for someone who is always here for him so selflessly but he is a selfish person; he wants more. He wants Noe to climb into his bed, wrapping his perfectly tanned arms around him. The surety with which the idea settles deep in his heart- how achingly perfect they would be in bed next to each other- nearly knocks the air out of him.
