Ponyboy curtis was short. No getting around it. He got picked and teases by the gang for it Daly. Them putting stuff on high shelf our just raising there arms to get it away form pony’s grasp. Even Johnny and soda liked to tease him about it. Even tho Johnny was only a few inches taller then pony himself.
They thought it was the funniest thangs in the world. Obviously he didn’t find it funny one bit . Often hitting them in the knee our sensitive place if they were Steve. But whenever he did it they would always say “ it’s true what they say .the smaller you are the closer you are to hell “ our all that anger in such a small body “ didn’t help that he didn’t have much mucus. He got his mother’s skinny’s arms and legs. He envy’s his elder brother for getting there fathers strong builds and tall hight.
But what he hated most is when they would leave his books our thangs they know he would use up on high shelve and leave. Leaving him at the mercy of trying to parkour our lowering himself to ask for help . But if one person is home he knows hill be safe form that unthinkable act . Dallas Winston. Don’t get him wrong he teases pony juts as much as the others. but when no one is watching . No one is home and pony looked at dally with his green ( gray ) eyes . Hill fold like a paper . Hill reach his arm up and get anything pony needed . even getting stuff like bags of chips and cans down so pony didn’t have to get that reached chair that has a broken leg. that he uses to get up high but he hates it. He ponyboy curtis is also afraid of hightail which he will never tell anyone.
But hill get it with juts a “ ya “ our a “ whatever “ and leave it . Pony’s real gratefully for that. And each time dally will Ruffin his hair and will chucked his ruff laugh when his hands gets swatted away and pony scales at him half Hartley . But vary seriously . It takes time to make his hair this good . He would smile a small smile . Barely ever visible to see it then turn around and slouch on the couch . Then hill yell for a beer and pony would yell back he was juts in the kitchen and he could of gotten it . But hill still get him he’s beer anyways .

Dally Likes to steel . Not because he need the thangs. Mostly just to brake the law. He would go into shops and grab anything that could fit in his letter jacket pocket. With usually left him with a lot of useless thangs. Small nick nakes he had no use for and didn’t really want. He didn’t like clutter in his room at bucks. But there is one person who Loves these small little nick nakes. Someone who loves those small porcelain cats that do noting but collect dust . Our the variety of books he Steel juts because. Even the colorful and fun shaped rock. The ones that look like heart our flowers. He loves those stupid battal caps that Dallas steels from people pockets and stupid ring he steels right from There finger.
And that’s ponyboy curtis. He loves those small trinkets and has a howl shelf detected to them . 99% of it was giving to him by Dallas Winston . Many time throw out the week pony wold be in his room our in the kitchen by himself. Not when someone around . Even when Johnny around Dallas wouldn’t come in and silently hand whatever trashier he has found that day . His eyes would brighten . he would drop whatever he was doing and quietly scoop up the small gift and inspect it. He wouldn’t say thank you. Last time he did he got a smack upside the head. Dallas didn’t like him acknowledging the act. So he would give a thanks to dallys in his head and look at the small trinket. Twisting it in his hand and rubbing whatever bury got on it off.
Dally would what for about a minute before he would tisk and walk away. Sometimes when pony wouldn’t be home he would go in his room and place his small gifts on his shelves our his desk . Even sometimes on his pillow . Pony laugh every time because it remind him of a cat . Giving there owners dead birds and leaving them in there bed our back door . But hill never tell Dallas that . He likes his gifts to much . In the bugging soda asked were he gets so meany of those small thangs and he would shrug and say” juts found it “ our “ was a gift “ but never say it’s from dallies Winston . On no not in a million years.

Ponyboy Curtis gets into danger a lot. And without fail dally would be there to get him out of it. Even at the ripe age of 7 dally would yank him out of the street by the back of his cooler. Out of the way of a speeding car zipping pass. Our when he was 10 and had to pull pony away from the snake hissing at his feet and had to chop its head off so I t wouldn’t bite pony . Our maybe at 15 when dally had to punch a soce Right in the nose to get them to stop picking on little old 13 year old ponyboy. Hell even at 17 dally is the one that pony go’s to when there’s a spider lurking in the corner trying to eat him .
Pony has come accustom to dally being there to save him . When he was little he would thank of dally as a dark night in letter armer . Someone who would come out of the shadow to save the prince then leave on his black Horse in the night . But that makes pony cringe whenever he would remember that. Because dally Isn’t a night. He’s a mean hood who scowled at people and steels thangs . But pony somethings thank he is . When there’s soce surround him and getting ready to pounce like hurters on there pray . Pony would see his platinum blond hair and fell safe . It’s a different type of safe he feels when he’s with his brother our even when he’s with the howl gang . It’s like a burst of relief. Like an explosion of fireworks . He doesn’t know why but he’s juts relived he’s come and saved him yet agin.
Dallys com actuated to saving pony to . If pony ever asked anyone to kill a bug they would tease him relentlessly. But with Dally . He’s come to juts rolling his eyes and slamming his hand down to kill the stoped thang . He likes to do it with his bare hands so he can watch pony face contour in delis. But either way . Today is juts another day of saving ponyboy curtis . Since he’s such a damsel in destress.

Pony hates being cupped up in his house. He hates looking outside and wishing he could be out there . But Darry never likes him going out alone . And since soda always going out with Steve ,and pony don’t like Steve all to much so he hates going with them sometimes. And twos always out getting drunk and Darry don’t trust him with a leaf when he’s drunk and especially not with pony. He could go out with johnny and he dose but sometimes johnny didn’t what to go out and pony didn’t like to force him with levels his last resort . Dallies Winston . And dally can’t say no to pony . Witch is odd considering he says no to everyone else . But when pony looked at him with his stupid puppy dogs eyes with most of the time he’s Amun to by the way. He juts can’t say no to the you he’s curtis . Hill fold and do whatever he ask.
So that’s why dally has to take pony to the movie even tho dally never cared for them .he would juts go off and talk with other greaser and cause trouble. Sometimes he would take him to the book store even tho everyone in there give dallys the stink eye. The first few times they went he would get them kicked out after 5 minutes. But with a little begging he just ends up taking a nap in the seat next to pony as he read . Pony often thought it looked like pony guard dog. But hill never say that to him .
But with being ponys boy Curtis guard dog. It also means taking him pleases that cost money like food, Movie ,and book stores . Dally had to cough up a lot of money for the kid . And every time without fail he would grumbling and complain . And how much pony owes him wall handing over the money.
Lots of days Dallas would wonder into the Curtis home . and pony would hop up to him begging him to take him to the movies . He would cave and begrudgingly go with him . Then hill have to get the kid food. And since there already out they might as well head to the bookstore. And on and on . Lots of days were juts spend with those two just hanging out . And pony would see him smile . And dally never smiles . Not even at puppy’s . But he smile at pony . And pony really likes that . And maybe sometimes he ask him to take him pleases just to see him smile . But he won’t tell him that

Dallies Winston never smiles. It’s a know a fact in talis. Hell most people didn’t even know what his content face is let alone his happy face . But there is one person who sees it . And the only reason he smile for them is because when he lets his lips lift ever so slightly . Even a twitch upstairs would get the kid all happy and story Eye. He would watch his face Bloom with joy and maybe it would make his smile just a little bit bigger.
Sometimes when there alone he would let himself be calms. Let himself loss in up and laugh at the stupid joke the kid makes .our smile at the bright and innocent face next to him. And he know he loves it . He knows that ponyboy Curtis loves it when dallies Winston smiles . And so maybe he dose it just for him . But no one Else . Hill die before that happens . Lot of time they’ll be home alone and dally would of let himself loosen up and smile at pony . Then hill hear the door open and hill drop that smile real quick . Even if he see the kids smile also drop at the lost sight of the smile. But hill ignore the guilt felling curling up insid of him and get up to grab a beer ,as pony great show ever came in .
And he’s right. Pony loves that smile . It makes his face younger and more handsome . It makes him look like a kid he never got to be . He has a howl Journal full of pitcher he’s drawn of just him smiling and being relaxed. But hill never show him those . Hill probably die of embarrassment. So he keeps it secret and Enjoy the smiles he gets like a gift from heaven.

dallies Winston gets into a lot of fight and so he gets lots of bruises and cuts . And because of that ponyboy Curtis has gotten real good at patching them up . No one else dose dallies go to for patching up his wounds other then ponyboy curtis . Hill limp into the curtis house and pony will gaps and stope whatever he was doing and rush to dally like he was on his death bed . Even if he only has a nasty cut. Hill usher him to the couch and start the fixing prodded . Gently washing the blood off of him. He would Ever so lately apply the band-Aids. Apology when he has to pore proxies on his wounds and dally would hiss and curs. And cringe when he has to Pearce his skin with a needle. Sometimes when the pain is to much hill grab dallies hands and let him crush it in pain. Squeezing it so hard that sometimes hill thank hill get a bruise the next day .
Dally also comes to pony when he’s sick . when he wakes up felling his head is like lead and he can’t breath throw his nose hill stumbling his way to the Curtis home and fall face first in ponys bed. Sometimes hill even wake the poor kid up with a body slamming into him. After The initial shock hill get up and grab some medicine and soup . After he does essential stuff . Pony would sit by him and let him hold his hand agin. Those times dally really likes how pony smells .
Pony would run his hands throw his hair and fell his forehead just like his mother use to do. Hill feed him soup and place a cool wash cloth on his forehead. He would even stay in bed with him so hill have someone to wake up to and not be alone. Pony hated waking up alone when he’s sick and he knows so does dallies. But hill never admit it . When pony would watch him sleep he would looks juts like a kid . With flush cheeps and sweaty hair . He would look all small and defenseless . But hill never say that to him . Not in million years .
After he’s done being sick hill go home and they will never speak of it . But pony would get a little trinket on his pillow the next day . He won’t say he thanks it cute . No not in million years
