Following the Sound of Your Pipe, I Already Had Music In My Mind

Summary:

"You should have learned to leave me be when I moved."

"And you should have known that I needed you."

Too much time wasted, Jungkook takes matters in his own hands.

Now Jimin's right where he should have been.

But why isn't he in the Alpha's heart?

Chapter 1: Never an Us

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

Jungkook has had it.

He had pulled every card, tried every trick there is. It's been years, and each effort has fruited to nothing. The sabotages, the theft, seductive glances during underground conferences and occasional instigated petty gang brawls.

So now, after years of relentless yearning and failed advances, he was left with no choice but to take drastic measures and here he is, perfectly pulled it off too. Sure, few of his men are dead, half his armoury exhausted and two of his warehouses of supplies have been destroyed.

Nevertheless, he has Park Jimin exactly where he's always wanted him. Well not really, he's not above him and balls deep in him, knot tight and body glistening hot. ( yet)

But he is bound right in front of him, hands cuffed and head lolling forward on the fixed mahogany chair. As beautiful as he was, the man was equally equipped to become a living nightmare. Sparkling, gorgeous slate grey eyes can become blood freezing, slitting stormy ones.

How does an Alpha who's an inch shorter than him make him feel things which even his 6"2 feet, broad, dark and sexy side fuck from one of his whorehouses didn't? Ugh now he's dripping, from just thinking about Namjoon's heavy cock and reassuring smile. He feels the tiniest bit sad that he'll have to stop the whole arrangement. Can't say he'll miss him though, Joonie was a total bore who thought of too far and too beyond nonsense and anyway he's going to have much better soon. Jimin was known to have a knot practically addictive to omegas, with hips which knew exactly how to move to fix the addiction deep. With a body like Adonis, sharp cuts and muscles which you'd never tire licking off.

He looks at you and you die, he smiles and you resurrect. And once he touches you, even heaven would feel like an understatement. A beautiful Alpha as hypnotic as a snake charmer and as deadly as a viper itself.

His scent too, though a little odd with the petrol and petrichor mix, turns intoxicating when heavy and intensified. However, the few times they have crossed paths(Jungkook bumping into him) over the years, his scent has had a swirl tinge of lemon and mint to it. He assumes it's a regular side whore omega, understandably so since Jungkook has his favourite too. As soon as Jimin starts behaving, he'll get the name out and rip that sleazy instant green tea scent omega's cervix out himself.

Everything about that Alpha makes his hackles rise and some primal urge surface. Drowning in feelings , Jungkook thinks he's submerged in his infatuation with Jimin.

Once he had heard Nari, his gang's then financial advisor whisper someone's experience with Jimin some time back to Hoseok. The guard beta had screamed his cords off,  flapping his hands around like a duck when the spray of blood splattered over him from the bullet lodged in his gossip partner's forehead. Aish the people around him were too loud for their own good.

Jimin stirs then, surprising him. He had landed a pretty hard blow to the back of his head, consciousness should have been absent till midnight but it's only six now. Not even the sun is down yet.

"As expected, you get over everything pretty fast. I don't know whether to be impressed by your strength or enraged by the reminder."

There's blood dried by his temple, dust and rubble on his face visible clearly under the bright light of the sparsely furnished room. A split lip which now spreads into a slacked smirk. And he's still as captivating as ever, a dream to look at. Jungkook has seen the most handsome men in their brothels. The most beautiful Alphas work under his father, yet nobody can make Jungkook's breath stutter from a glance except Park Jimin.

"I don't really like the whole strawberry vanilla so by all means, take full offence to my disinterest."

Jungkook would have already kneeled, the hoarse airy voice has always put his mind in a hazy drunken stupor. But the words hit right where they were directed to and he takes a sharp breath in, eyes intense and sharp at the unfazed man.

He scoofs, then pulls himself up and saunters forward. Dropping himself into Jimin's lap, he drapes his arm around his neck, lightly rubbing his thumb against the scent gland there. Jimin rolls his eyes, trying to jerk his hips forward to throw the unwelcome burden off when Jungkook starts kissing and nipping down his neck. The tied legs are an inconvenience, plus the bucking and shifting only creates friction between his crotch and the now moaning omega's ass.

"Ugh I don't want to dirty my clothes, Zeha will have my head if I dirty his LV jacket. Brown leather is a bitch to get the stench off." He grumbles to himself, completely ignoring the omega grinding on top of him.

"Okay! Okay, this would make an amazing porno but um I have to throw up because I'm dizzy- thanks to the head strike that you gave." He's making a nauseated face, he's really looking away from Jungkook.

Sharp nails dig into his jaw, Jungkook's fingers pressing hard into the skin. Jimin simply looks bored, like he's a pest that's inconvenient to him. A fly to bat away.

"You can't talk like this to me. I'm Jeon Jungkook, men take appointments to even beg at my feet." He seethes, pulling his hand away and sliding off the Alpha.

"Yeah well when you've got a gun to someone's head, he's bound to start begging. Wait, doesn't your cartel too take appointments for the whores? Huh, makes sense."

He tilts his head, taunting grin pasted on his face.

"Yah!" Jungkook's chest heaves with fury, the words a stab coming from the one he's longed for. He's getting frustrated, patience thinning and he has half a mind to jab the knife in Jimin's throat. He'd never utter a word again, he'd never look at another omega again either.Anyone else and he could have. Anyone else and he would have.

"See? Your esteem lies in the gun."

"I could strangle you with just my thighs, right here and right now. Crink in the armour of Taehyung, a direct hit to the strength of the Kim's. Maybe your tongue ought to change tactics and offer better services." He raises a sharp eyebrow, challenging but Jimin's mock impressed expression puts him right back into his agitated self.

"Is that supposed to make you seem sexy? The whole strong, independent, dangerous vibe? Babe you read too much young adult fiction. Did you get your moves from 365 Days?" He laughs, a demeaning, insulting tinkle of it. Jungkook's omega, which has always been a proud confident figure, is now starting to cower from the Alpha's indifference. The rejection, even to someone like him, hurts like a scalding knife.

"The arms and tattoos are really a turn off you know? Fucking hate bitches like you, entitled blue blooded trash who just don't take no for an answer and can't see beyond themselves." He spits out, anger laced in his voice. Finally an emotion other than blank nonchalance.

Jungkook chuckles darkly. "That sounds sexist, my how you've changed Jiminie. If your Alpha is that threatened by me then I must be doing it right. You should be afraid."

"Afraid of you? If you tear my head open you'll only find annoyance and some teeny sympathy for you. Though yeah, the height kind of bruises my ego. Who the fuck births an omega with a countenance of a gorilla? Honestly you're unsettling like that Jimbo kid from Boss Baby."

He feigns a shudder, then goes back to slouching back in the chair. Indifferent again.

It was so much better when the Alpha was gone. At least the uncertainty was a comfort, a hope which is now breaking with each harsh word and non-recognising gaze. Constant shards aching from the inside of his chest. Park Jimin will never be his willingly. But he's not letting him go either.

He lets the slow smile creep on his face.

"You can cuss me out all you want baby, we have lots of time before the riot ends. And before anyone can find you, we'll already be on our way."

All he gets is a lop sided grin in return. "I'm not gonna ask where you're taking me if that's what your big reveal masterplan is gonna be."

Jungkook just shrugs, intent eyes not leaving Jimin's lethally mirthful ones.

"You'll stay with me anyway, be it with broken bones. Even if I have to bash your head in to make you mindless." Jimin rolls his eyes, muttering "dramatic bitch" under his breath.

There's a ping from his pocket and Jungkook pulls his phone. Eyes taking a swift glance away to the message from Seokjin.

Consiglily or smtn:

I'm assuming you've got Park

Me:

Yes

Consiglily or smtn:

We pulled back, they took their powders and our gold shipment. I think it's time you stop.

Me:

Did dad say that?

Consiglily or smtn:

No

Me:

Tough luck then. Get the snipers and Dukes out. Get rid of their driver and the truck to Gwangju's warehouse.

"You've got wrinkles, aged huh? The lost gold must have given a heavy blow.." Jimin snickers, legs spread and head tilted leisurely.

"More like bought you for thirty million dollars. Better start living up to your worth Jiminie," he bats his lashes precociously, inviting himself to perch on Jimin's thighs again.

"Hey I'm at least worth a trillion. You see this face? Just my dick would cost you that gold."

"Then I'll make thorough use of it," he whispers. A manicured finger runs down the side of Jimin's face, Jungkook's eyes following the movement and mapping his features again, even the scrunched up repulsed expression that they are forming.

He's wanted him for so long, yet the fire inside him isn't quelling. Not the one full of red desire, that probably would never stop, you can never stop the lust for Park Jimin. It's the one feeling with the pink airy floating which had started to settle heavily and suffocate when Jimin left. Why won't it calm down? Why won't his heart stop worrying? Jimin's his now.

"Why did you never return? Why did you go to Seoul?" His voice is somber, almost distant like he's wondering out loud. He knows his scent is turning rotten, upset omega evident in the room of his underground basement hideout below the Jeon Residence.

Because nobody searches for a lost item in the house.

The question makes Jimin halt in his ministrations to turn away from him. He looks at him with disappointment, with pity and resignation.

"Took you long enough to ask like a civilised human."

"I was hurt."

"Excuses mean nothing in our world remember?"

A raised eyebrow and small smile stares back at him and Jungkook sees the Jimin he had known twelve years back. Before Jungkook had lashed out from the betrayal of abandonment and ruined their friendship forever.

"But your explanation would mean everything right now."

Big doe azure eyes, still brilliant and sparkling with stars, so misleadingly innocent. How does Jimin explain that they had become suffocating. His job, the Jeon gang, Busan—it had all become too confining for him. At twenty, his Alpha had wanted more, something new and different. A change which was almost calling him to Seoul.

Jimin's eyes soften the tiniest bit, maybe because even he once mourned the loss of a dear friend. But love had struck him in a moment, and every other thought, dream and want had been lost in the scent of mint and citrus.

"Seoul was an eye opener, it had opportunity and scope, it had principles and I could breathe easier.  And when I had lost my heart in Seoul, how could I come back to Busan incomplete?" He smiles at his words, thinking of the very first memories of the omega who stole his heart and trapped his soul right with him. That little minx with his tiny claws, god he loves him so much.

Jungkook throat closes up, chest unmoving and breath stuck as the blood drains from his face. In one moment Jimin had crushed everything. His hope, his heart and future dreams. His large penthouse, his mating mark, his fond smile, his baby. There's never been someone to enamor Jungkook enough to want the Omegain Dream. Only Jimin, only his first bodyguard since he presented at sixteen. That had been their both's beginning. Now Jimin says his heart, which should have had Jungkook's name engraved, is already owned by someone else. Jimin was someone else's. He loves another, he loves another…

"You're joking right? Y-you're still playing around. You think such a piss poor attempt will weaken my intentions? That too with some lemon smelling bitch... You're only instigating my predator Jimin, don't play with me."

He fists his hair harshly, pulling his head back with a growl. His lips a breath away from Jimin's which are pulled back in a snarky of his own.

"Fuck off and keep his name out of your mouth." Jimin's jaw clenches and a sudden punch sends Jungkook toppling off to the right. He rubs his jaw, chuckling as pain shoots up his entire right profile going as far as his temple.

"Oh you're serious. Well I'll be sure to skin him alive in front of you. Alphas with wounds love it when the blood is licked off them." Jungkook looks into Jimin's steeled eyes as he pops his slacked, bruising jaw into place.

He'd expected it, Jimin to get out of at least one confinement. He has two glocks and a jack knife in his jeans because he knows Jimin's abilities. Looking about, his eyes zero in on the chair. Ah right, the screws in the chair. He looks at Jimin's left hand and sees the bloody finger tips. God he wishes Jimin would ruin him right now.

He backhands Jimin, ring cutting into the cheekbone and a drop of blood rising out of it. Then runs a soothing tongue over it, the other's left arm pinned back tightly, his jaw yet again in a tight hold. He moves lower, licks his cut lips, bites into the plush flesh, harder until the cut starts bleeding again. The grunts and growls are all making his slick gush and cunt throb, a tight heat growing with his own red hunger. He sucks, pushing against tightly shut lips, pulling at the lower lip just to let go and watch it swell redder.

Jungkook can smell the absolute enragement of the Alpha, just as he's certain the Alpha can smell his peaked arousal.

There's blood on his own lips when he pulls back, satisfied to see the seething look on Jimin's face.

"We're blood bound now," he giggles. He feels floaty, the pressure easing just the smallest bit.

"We're STD bound now, yay" Jimin spits out once, then twice. He wipes his mouth and cheek with his sleeve. Jungkook huffs, getting up from his knees and dusting himself off.

"Clever as ever. But I'd like to keep my face and sensations. The chopper will be here soon." With that, he fetches to the metallic briefcase on top of a dresser in the corner. An injection and a bottle of clear liquid is pulled out, Jimin laughs at the sight of it.

"Could have just given me classic chloroform."

"I like propofol, it—"

"Sounds like pororo, yeah I know."

There's silence in the room, the small fact heavy in the room. Jungkook's hope rises, Jimin's resentment rises.

"You should have learned to leave me be when I moved."

Jungkook bristles, gaze sharpening.

"You should have known that I needed you."

"I'm not yours." Jimin says in exasperation. "When will you understand that I never was!"

"Now you are, and you're not going anywhere." Jungkook strides to him with purpose, snatching his arm away and just about to push the needle in when the left wall, where the metal door leading to a staircase is, blasts open.

The entire wall is destroyed into pieces, the metal door flying out towards them landing just behind them. Jungkook brings a hand up to cover his face, coughing into it and swatting his other arm in front of him. Debris over every surface and a cloud of dust curbing vision to see the intruder.

But Jimin seems to know exactly who it is if the groaning and "told him I'll be back by dinner," muttering is anything to go by. His whole body language changing, from disinterest and laidback to anticipatory and even excited. Like a snarling wolf becoming a golden retriever waiting for his owner.

There comes a cough from the blown up entrance, and two figures emerge.

"Baby! Let's go," a man's exaggerated high voice is heard.

"When will you stop randomly sprouting old drama lines? Nobody even remembers Lovers in Paris." A much younger, lighter voice replies.

"Your Appa does and that's enough. What you want me to give newer references? You got upset with the Samantha and Rachel one over lunch yesterd–eek!" There's some concrete being swept aside, just as Jimin yells a "careful!"

"Oh for heaven's sake, Eomma I told you to wait! What if Appa gets hit by the big pieces? You're a fool."

Eomma? Who the fuck? Out of the two figures, he sees one about a foot shorter than the other. And if the voice is any indication, then there's an actual kid in his basement. A kid who just walked into Busan's gang leader's house and partook in blowing up a whole steel covered wall with a...grenade launcher?

"Oh shut up, this is why I didn't want to bring you, you party pooper. Jimin knows how to duck and dive, any other casualty we can just sew up."

Jungkook thinks this is a joke from the gods. A mated omega with a grenade launcher hoisted over his shoulder which he promptly drops by the side to hit the back of the ten/ eleven year old's head.

But what he registers first, the most shocking of all and even a little impressive, is the outfits of the two. The omega has shoulder length blonde hair, which is tied into two pigtails swinging by the side of his ear and wavy bangs which he blows irritatedly. He can't see his eyes, the chic sunglasses a suave cover. He sees pale skin, round cheeks. A thin waist which peeks out sexily from the LOS ANGELES printed yellow crop top pulled taut over his small breasts. The yellow stilleto boots and loose black cargo pants add to his lithe figure, held up by a thick black belt.

The kid looks already done with his mom and Jungkook has an inkling that it was the older omega who put him in his outfit. A red Hawaiin shirt over a white tee and a thin gold chain. He's wearing black stompers in contrast to his mother's bright shoes.

Jungkook would have burst out laughing if the whole affair wasn't so cryptic. Just last week he had finished watching that drama.

"Who is it? I don't remember calling for backup." He calls out, voice clear and mockingly melodious.

"Is that the abductor? He doesn't seem to be the brightest tool in the shed.." the kid voices out, easily classifying as one of those emo broody kids who are too witty for their own good. Jungkook has half a mind to blow the sarcasm out of his brain, just one bullet. But variables are unstable and you never shoot at the unknown.

"Oh I'm nurse Joy, I heal pokemons!" Comes the omega's mischievous reply, too giggly for someone in their line of work.

"Christ, nevermind. Dad's IQ must be the sum of these two's." A squeak comes from the kid as his mom swats at his shoulder, then pulls him closer with an arm around it.

Jimin snorts, apparently very amused with the conversation. It's clear that this is a rescue mission. Fuck. Jungkook doesn't have backup before the chopper's arrival. The handguns would have to make do because Jimin won't be leaving to anywhere. He won't let him slip again.

The debris settles, Jungkook can finally breathe properly. In the first whiff he realises who the omega is. Citrusy mint and hints of rain.

His vision clears and he sees the kid's face clearly. He has light grey eyes and a slight scent of peppermint. Unpresented omega then. Jungkook's good at guessing people's statuses, since his own was a whole jumble of mixed signs.

The omega raises his sunglasses over his head, the same coloured irises blinking at him. He's beautiful . Is the first thought in Jungkook's head. Like a nymph, like the goddess Hera of marriage and fertility. He's a fantasy brought to life. It was unfair, it was so unfair how he should have hated, that his blood should have boiled from the first sight of him but all Jungkook can do is curse the Gods for creating such a beauty.

His second thought is more logical and intellectual. If the kid called the omega his mom, and the omega's scent is the exact citrus mixed all over Jimin, and if the omega is mated. Then Jimin is mated, with a child.

Jimin seems to ignore his shaken captor, occupied with getting his mate and son's attention.

"Yah! Over here! Can't you both hurry?" The two bickering omegas perk up and walk over to him. His mate overdramatically crying out a "Jagi-yah!" as he runs to him, the kid a little more leisurely, like it's every Sunday his dad is to be rescued. Maybe. You never know with the family job. His aunt is married to the Kim gang's underboss and heir Kim Taehyung, it's kind of expected with the family profile.

"You just had to come huh? I told you guys I would have handled it." Jimin shakes his head, letting the omega peck his cheek in their mandatory greeting as Zeha pulls out a Swiss knife to unscrew the cuffs.

"You said six! It's almost seven thirty! Sue me for being a caring mate. The first time I manage a proper unburnt squid rice dish and you decide to vanish. Tae hyungie told me not to worry but the food was getting cold!" He whines and pouts, pulling at his sleeve, his anxiety tick showing as he tries to anchor himself reassured by Jimin's safety.

"And the grenade launcher?" A playful stern eyebrow is raised, and his mate looks sheepish as he grins.

"His new trial one that he was dying to try by himself. Appa I swear I tried to stop him but you're the 90% impulse control, my 10% doesn't do well when mom's eager."

"Aish this boy," the older omega flicks his forehead, poking his tongue out at Zeha's pissed expression.

"And you brought my baby too! I thought you had dance class today," Jimin waits patiently as his mate dusts and cleans his face with a kerchief.

"Aunt Yoonji stabbed some Alpha sunbae for pinching me so for now dance classes are on hold." Zeha shrugs, cutting through the last ropes around the ankles but Jimin frowns at him, rubbing his wrists.

"Oh hold? Why?" The way he skips over the news, sunbae was about to have another Alpha of his family at him soon.

"The dance teacher quit from the trauma, they need time to search and hire another one."

He pouts unconsciously, sometimes he really dislikes his extra Aunt. But then he sees his mom, standing there and humming Love Shot as he starts putting bandages(conjured from various pockets in his pants) over Jimin's wounds, and realises that the genetic disorder for dramatics can't be helped. Thank god for his dad's classy genes or he'd be a crackhead on the streets too.

As soon as the ropes fall off, Jimin immediately gets up and hugs his little baby, his star and sunshine. His pride and lifeline and the apple of his eye.

"My Yoongi, missed you already."

Zeha rolls his eyes from the side as his parents embrace each other, Jimin's fingers pressing deeper tight against his bare skin and his other hand in his omega's hair pressing his face to the crook of his neck. He hates it when they get like this and start scenting each other so lewdly in public. "Great, really feeling the love here. Jesus mom should have paid attention in sex-ed, no wonder he ended knocked up at nineteen." Zeha just shakes his head, face scrunching up and fake gagging as his parents have progressed to sucking faces now. He can clearly hear his dad growling how sexy his omega looks while his thigh is between his mom's legs and the whimpers aren't lost on anyone.

Jungkook's already slacked jaw had dropped further, so lost in his thoughts he ignored the couple in front of him. Or maybe it was an automatic self-preservating mechanism.

Yoongi? Min Yoongi? The weapons modifier for the Kim's. The omega is a Midas with any device. His family's weapons specialisation is what put Seoul's Kims on the top of the underground ladder. He's not just a passing bedwarmer if he's a Min. Park Jimin scouts gems with a keen eye and Min Yoongi ought to be an infinity stone. The beautiful mating mark below his jaw taunts him, breaking his inner confidence, tenacity, motives and goals. The sight of them breaks him, a family. Jimin's family without a place for him.

"Oh my god I'm right here! And I don't need another sibling urgently so can we please move out!"

Zeha's patience for the gross display runs out finally. The two immediately separate, Jimin clearing his throat while Yoongi huffs and glares at their son.

"You little rat, you'll have it from m—"

"Are you kidding me!" The loud manic scream makes the family jump.

Jungkook looks ready to pull his hair out from the whole scene in front of him. A spectator of his own doom. His whole axis tilted, his stars disaligned. How did he never know? Why hadn't any informat ever mentioned a mate? A kid? The Kims couldn't be that efficient at keeping their secrets and private matters hidden, could they? He knew Kim Taehyung had a partner, but again their gender, family, appearance were all unknown in the underground circle.

But Jungkook had tried and had assumed he had succeeded, smug over his vain achievements only to yet again be defeated. By what? Jimin? The Kims? Fate?

How does someone be so detached from their love that they don't know the person in front of them. Jimin was a father, a husband from the ring on Yoongi's finger.

He wasn't his. He can never be his.

He looks at Zeha, staring back at him sceptically. Like one would to a frenzied wild animal. He can't see his own countenance but it must be that terrible because the kid looks quizzical now. He sees Jimin's reflection in his features, the dark hair and big eyes. The dimples, entracing gaze and suave stance. Again some other Jungkook will be left heartbroken by this Park. It hurts to even look at him, he can't hate him but he also he can't accept his existence. It's strange to see a part of Jimin and not immediately love him, but it's also pitiful to see him and not feel his heart burn down to the thought of the child born of love from Jimin and another omega.

"Is this a ploy? To hurt me more? To escape? What is it?" Jungkook knows how he sounds now, even the funky omega looks sad for him. He doesn't want it though, he could shove his pity in his hole for all he cares. He just wants Jimin back to him, but the man looks at him with no tenderness or familiarity. Just a stranger, not even an estrangement.

The image of them hurts. The kid, the love in their eyes. For each other and for Zeha. Their comfortable touches. It was exactly what he wanted from Jimin. It stings like a hot knife deep within, to see another omega live his dream he yearned for.

It hurts even more, because a tiny conflicted part looked at the omega and understood. They fit, the height and personalities, the scents and likes; they deserved that family. Did he ever?

He shakes his conflicts away. Have Jimin. Make him yours. Have him. Mine, Mine. The one on his left shoulders screeches, he obeys. His hand brings up the glock, aimed right at Yoongi's forehead.

Immediately the Alpha covers him, Zeha's face a mirror of his father's murderous one. The scent of burning petrol looms over him, along with strong mint. For someone who argues with his mom a lot, the boy was surely a whole lot protective.

"Was it him? The lemon whore? What, did he cry and grovel for the knot? Then blackmail you with him?" The glock is just momentarily pointed at Zeha but the loud snarl let out by Yoongi resonates in the room, grey eyes flashing a warning blue at the sight of his pup being even minutely threatened.

"Shut up you bitch! Or I'll put this in your mouth and empty every single bullet in you. You think you deserve him? Huh? Spread your legs for the first capable man who looked towards you? Kim Taehyung's dick must have not worked out so his right hand man seemed the next passable opti—" Jungkook let out a blood curling scream as the Swiss knife that Zeha had stabs into the side of his right palm.

The glock drops. Jungkook feels tears gather at the corner of his eyes. His hand hurts, his heart hurts. Rotten strawberries makes Zeha scrunch up his nose.

"Rule Uno- never let your guard down. Rule Dos, never call my mom a whore." Zeha has his arms crossed across his chest, eyes glaring and thunderous. A grave mistake on his part, having kept his eyes on the parents, which gave the kid a free opening.

He'd forgotten this was Jimin's son. The man who returns pain ten fold and was the best extortionist they had. If a payment was pending, you sent him to get jobs done.

"Let's go," Jimin says in a baritone voice. He's fuming, from Jungkook's crude words towards his husband and from his conflicted feelings to help him. He was a good employer, a good friend for a while who went too far in his own desires and didn't know when to stop.

"You can't go, don't you dare fucking leave again Jimin!" Jungkook grits out, a kerchief trying to stop the bleeding in vain. Why won't the pain stop? Why won't his breath stop hurting?

"Will he be okay?" Yoongi asks lowly, casting a worried look towards Jungkook who is grunting as he clutches his hand. Jimin shrugs, pressing a soothing kiss on top of Yoongi's head and tucking Zeha's hair behind his ear.

"It's time you stop Kook. I think you know, I'm exhausted and the Kims won't let you drag this fruitless, unreasonable rivalry on for long. We... we're done here." Jimin's voice in tender like it used to be, tender and final. A whiff of rain, then it vanishes. Here's the dead end.

"I can't, i can't.." he keeps chanting to himself, shaking his head as he pleads now with his eyes. Jimin isn't even looking though. He walks away, arms around his mate and child, leading them out of the room.

Jungkook thinks he's crying harder, wheezing as he can't breathe. It is a burden, this want for Jimin. It won't let air in, it won't let live. It eats him alive and presses into his soul like a grinder until there's a disfigured lump left.

Jungkook wants to breathe, he wants this out now. His hope laid shattered, his cartel was in shambles, pride shredded, his hand bled slowly onto the stony floor of his basement. For just once, he wants to be freed from his self inflicted burden. But then the image surfaces–of his Jimin smiling at him as he drives, teaching him how to ride a bicycle, bringing him to various street food stalls, saving him from attacks when a deal went wrong or a rival gang wanted leverage.

Jungkook once became unbreakable for Jimin, now he cracks like a domino once again from the same Alpha. But it's fine. Jungkook can try again. And again. He's done great so far and he can get up again.

But he wants to breathe. He is exhausted too. The hope seems false, the determination is taped with weak glue. His omega mourns. A goodbye to his first love. A funeral for his own hopes.

He starts coughing and finally gulps in air.

In the back of his mind, his practised alertness and consciousness provides him with he image of the funky omega, turning to look back at him with a sad frown on his face.

There's a yell of " Appa what the fuck did you do to my jacket?" in the background, footsteps walking further away in tune with the droplets of dripping blood.

His airway clears when soft arms gingerly encircle around his arms. Soft pats on his back. Ones like his mom used to give. Citrusy scent around him soothes, shushes. It's not that bad, it isn't bad at all.

His eyes focus, silent tears clearing as the omega's face comes into view. He doesn't want to appear weak, like someone who's lost a battle. Never a sore loser, he pushes the arms away even as his body screams to bury his face in the omega's chest like a scared pup.

Yoongi complies and pulls back, not wanting to worsen his storm of emotional conflict.

"I can understand," he says softly.

"I'm five seconds away from bashing your head on the floor so fuck off. This sympathy show of yours is suited for orphans and puppies." Maintaining his threatening voice is hard, his tone wavering on the last syllable. Fuck where is that god forsaken helicopter!

Yoongi gets up, he just wanted to make sure the omega was okay. But now that he's assured, he deems it alright to leave. Jeon Jungkook is stronger than most, he has realised. Just like him, his love is strong. Not right but strong. He doesn't know why, but he whispers into the night words that burden him, which Jimin makes sure to always ease away. Everytime.

"Somedays I look at him and still can't believe he's mine. That he can be someone's so lovingly. He's too much to be contained to a person but he swore to be mine in front of fifty so I try to take his word for it." He chuckles to himself.

Glad that he met Jimin in the Kims' brothel one day and mistook him for a hooker. Drunk and confident, he had slipped few bills in his black jeans for a lap dance and a quick fuck.

Jimin had obliged in amusement, the next day to both their horrors he was introduced as a new guard for the underboss to seventeen year old Min Yoongi, 'weapons witch'. They had fucked again that night and had been on a date the very next. A cycle of those, and two years later Yoongi was crying into Jimin's chest, the pregnancy test positive. And though the beginning was tough with his sister as protective as ever, even going as far as to shoot at his boyfriend.

Jimin had proven himself to be a loyal boyfriend and a protective caring mate, an amazing father, just as loving as him if not more. His sister and brother in-law could see how precious he and Park Zeha were and will continue to be for Jimin.

The Alpha's entire world, his tether and salvation. Jimin always says that he was a rabid dog before meeting Yoongi. Like something deep in him shifted, to want to settle and stay with him. For him. And the day Zeha was born, Yoongi swears Jimin started looking at him like he'd seen God's blessing in an omega.

For Yoongi, his first love was an eternal cherry blossom tree. It aches a little, to see Jungkook's first love end in devastation. Min Yoongi didn't believe in the goddess and the moon, but he did believe in the Fates and Destiny.

Fate brought Jimin to Seoul, to him. Destiny gave him his lifeline, his Zeha. His little boy full of stars and fierce love, born in a family always on the verge of mortal danger yet still managing to give them supple moments of happiness. The Fates have kept them safe, healthy, together and Yoongi will always believe in the directions of Fate.

Maybe it was a sacrifice needed for his family to be complete, some complex trick of the fates. He thinks the least he could do in return is be kind to the one whose loss created a balance tipped to elevate his happiness. The universe had been fair. Too fair, a blind balance of judgement.

"I'm sorry, Jungkook. I..I hope you can heal."

Jungkook feels dead and he wants to be alone now. His mind is empty, he has nothing left, not even the energy to get up. The way the omega keeps speaking is irritating now. His words sound patronising, and all they do is hurt more. Reminding him of his current situation, heartbroken and on his knees. Broken, bloody. He hates being pitied and he sure as heal isn't weak.

So he looks up from the floor, left hand flexing around his second glock to put an end to it all when he feels time stop.

Min Yoongi smiles at him, radiantly. A white flag, a peace offering, another comfort method?

His grip on the gun goes slack, along with any intentions to empty all bullets in the omega's torso.

He watches Yoongi walk away, retrieving his launcher from the rubble. He wonders when the view changed, when the lenses shifted.

Zeha had returned by the entrance, whining to hurry.

"Race you to the Rover. Winner has to serve the dinner and do the dishes. Go!" Yoongi grins and dashes away, fast even with a weapon in hand and in four inched heels while his son is left squaking as he takes off behind him yelling cheater into the wind.

Jungkook finds himself breathing again, the pain around the kerchief numbing. He looks down and finds gauze and bandage beside him. He feels heady, dizzy, light

. It must be the blood loss, the omega thinks.

He closes his eyes and sees Jimin's smile but then there's a change in the angle. There he sees, Yoongi's wide smile from five minutes ago, scent a swirl of citrus and cars on asphalt during a downpour.

And Jungkook feels resurrected again.

Fuck, oh fuck no. Shit.

His dad would kill him if he starts a war with the Kims again.

Another tubelight in my head and written on impulse. :)

I tried a darker sort of fic, yet it turned out to become Yoonie worship again >.<

Also the clothes references are from Twenty-five Twenty-one drama because foreshadowing ;)
