Chapter Text
Harry is surrounded by his friends at his party, talking about how attractive a girl who walks past him is, when he's suddenly suffocated enough by the atmosphere and the music to tell the others he'll be back soon and head upstairs looking for an empty room to freshen up a bit.
When he finds a room acceptable enough he is momentarily startled by an unexpected presence before annoyance spreads through his body. It was Tao Xu, sitting there on the floor, when there were clearly enough seats not to, checking his phone. The boy raises his head when he sees him enter, he returns a look of annoyance.
"Happy birthday, rich kid." Harry can see the sneer from him so easily that he wonders if he even tried to hide it.
"May I know why you're here when it's clearly impossible that I invited you?" he replies, ignoring the other's congratulations.
Tao gets up from the ground, looking for something on his phone before showing it to him, he can clearly see the invitation on it.
"Apparently you've invited the whole school and since Charlie wanted to come I can't leave him alone, although he seems to have disappeared by the time we got here" he explains almost kindly, putting away his phone in the process. "Believe me, I wouldn't want to be here either".
Tao's annoyance is made even more noticeable when he sees no sign of Harry disappearing from the room, he's not sure why he's so irritable today, surely he would have insulted the other if it wasn't Harry's birthday and clearly a place he himself did not belong.
"Okay, next time I'll make sure not to invite faggots or weirdos, it's not going to get to you being too close to me."
Tao can feel it after so many times of experiencing it, that Harry will pounce on him or throw something at him, at least he will get hurt. So before he can think clearly he can see himself closing in on Harry, the distance disappearing.
"As if I really cared, at least it seems like you care about being around us more than anyone else. What's wrong? Are you afraid that gay will rub off on you? A kiss would make you one of us? Not man enough, huh?" His smile widens as he sees Harry's face scrunch up in disgust, having to look up from him to get a clearer look at Tao, who was clearly taller than him. He felt so good that the only thing he could think about was to annoy the boy, to get on his nerves, to make him angry before running away somewhere.
Harry knew that Tao was enjoying himself, however, perhaps it was due to the hot flash he felt before arriving there, because he had already had a little alcohol or something else inexplicable, that the only thing he could notice in his words was a challenge. And that challenge was bothering him more than he wanted.
Before he even processes it well enough he can feel his lips on Tao's, tasting a little, showing him that he fears nothing. Tao didn't expect that at all, but he wasn't going to back down after he was the one who proposed the kiss. His hands go to Harry's waist, pulling him closer to his body, he knows Harry definitely isn't thinking as he places his hands on his shoulders, ensuring neither of them escape.
The music is loud, the noise covers his ears and he feels how his mind is clouded, not being able to think very well. Maybe that's why he finds satisfaction when he hears Harry sigh in the middle of the kiss, seeing his troubled eyes, as if the only thing he can feel is him.
This thought clears his mind enough to turn away from Harry, realizing what he had just done. He had kissed him, he definitely had, and he didn't feel bad at all. He could feel the chair behind him touch his leg, so he sits down when he no longer thinks it possible to process what was happening.
Harry hadn't met Tao's gaze since they stopped kissing, so he had a moment to clear himself. He certainly couldn't admit what he had done, but the memory of Tao's lips was so intoxicating that he forced himself to get closer to the other to be noticed.
Tao looked up at him at the feel of it, surprised at how Harry looked at him. Desire. He could almost taste it.
A thought crossed his mind, staying there for so long that he couldn't ignore it. Fuck it, he thought, before settling back in his seat, looking at Harry as if in invitation.
"You have two options, walk out that door and forget what we've done here" he says, waiting a second before continuing, "or sit here and kiss me until someone discovers us" Tao didn't make it explicit, but he knew that "sitting here " meant his lap.
He looked at the door behind him doubtfully before sitting on top of the other boy and pulling his body closer with his arms. "No one is going to discover us" he whispered extremely close to Tao's ear, brushing his lips on purpose. Tao really tried to bear it, but he saw himself gripping Harry's waist tightly, holding him there, feeling his body temperature rise. Finding the moan accompanying Harry's sigh captivating. He kissed him, harder than before, if that was possible, it was a mix of anger, desire, and something else he couldn't name.
He headed for Harry's neck, leaving kisses in his wake, lifting his shirt with clear intentions. He gave himself a moment to think what he was doing, he had Harry Greene on his lap, moaning and sighing as he moved his hips back and forth seeking friction to relieve his obvious arousal. He allowed himself to find satisfaction in that fact before pulling away and looking at the other. It was obvious that they were on the same level in this position, but Harry could feel as if Tao was looking down on him, from far above, and that made him feel better than he cared to admit.
"Come on, move" felt like an order and he didn't mind following it, doing exactly as Tao asked.

When Harry returned to his friends, his neck and chest revealed more than he wanted, his lips burning with the memory. Nobody mentioned much about it when they saw in his eyes the clear refusal to admit anything. Let's just say that Harry started disappearing more consistently than he used to.
