All of his life Louie had issues falling asleep. Every night he would lay for hours until he finally fall into sleep, with weird dreams he would never fully remember. There was one time he went to sleep quickly, but only the one. But for most of his life, he would get enough sleep. He could put a date to the night that all changed.
June 5th 2017, the first night he used his phone in bed. After that for the next two months he would stay up late, 2 am, 3 am ,4 am, 5 am 7 am. Waking up at noon. He was exhausted constantly his dreams shifted to being more cohesive. Not that he thought they meant anything, he dreamed of getting actual sleep. If only dreams could come true.
He could once again put a date to when it got even worse. May 9th 2019, almost 2 years after the first shift. It was worse that night, but it persisted after that. It wasn't quite an earworm, he didn't know what it was. Maybe hallucinations, probably hallucinations. Either way every night since then, he began to hear music. It was different than other thoughts, clearer almost/ As if he was actually hearing it, just inside his skull. Geezer music. Fucking Geezer. Louie wanted a break, needed even. he didn't know if it would ever come.
