Summary

On a difficult night, Draco Malfoy is admitted under the influence of an illegal potion- One that strips away every filter and forces one's darkest thoughts out into the open. It's just Harry's luck that he is the one assigned to monitor him.
Harry is determined to do his job well, but no amount of training could have prepared him for this.

Draco could hear Harry speaking, but he didn’t really notice what he was saying. He could only barely feel gentle touches on his face. He felt numb. Distant. Dimly, he thought could hear concern in Harry’s voice.
The voice in his head was louder. Pathetic. Weak. Failure.
It was true. He’d failed. He’d failed Harry. Again. Like always.
That was what he did.
The voice grew sharper as Draco’s vision dimmed. Couldn’t even safe word right.

Draco exhales. Warm air against Harry’s lips. It sounds like the beginning of his name. Of course that’s foolishness speaking, his wild, giddy imagination refusing to accept that Draco has no concept of who’s holding him now… That even if he did, he’d never say Harry, never let his name pass his lips without a sneer and a spitting noise on the P. Potter, he’d snap. Never Harry.
He has to remember that. Has to remember that there’s nothing about Harry that would draw Draco to him. Nothing that would coax him to return, to be.
