Summary
When Hermione finally returns to London after nine years of building a career as a Magical Being Rights Advocate in Australia, she expects things to be at least somewhat like she remembered them. Instead, she returns to a world she doesn’t recognize. One in which Draco is now one of Harry's best friends—and trusted Auror partner—with their friend groups merged into one. And though Hermione has never acknowledged why she stayed in Australia for so long, it’s now obvious: she’s never really come to terms with the past. So now, suddenly, he was responsible for monitoring the “parole” of the last alpha of the Malfoy family, and he didn't want to be responsible for that, except that when he got there, he discovered that Draco was anything but an alpha, and for some reason, Draco Malfoy, who never knew how to keep his mouth shut, now didn't say a single word.
